How Dozens of People Own a Slice of a Hit by Jonah Weiner is a summary about a number one
hit song called “Sicko Mode” by Travis Scott. “Sicko Mode” was released to the public on August 3rd
2018 and was on the Billboards top 100 songs for weeks after its release. But the song is not only
credited to Travis but to 30 other individuals as well. “Sicko Mode was a hodgepodge of many different
samples of beats and vocals. There has yet to be another top 100 song to be written just like it.
The intro to the song begins with an unforgettable organ rift played by Roget Chahayed but is
then preceded by Drake who will be the first vocals you will hear in the song. Once Drake’s Vocals end
Travis Scott’s vocals finally appear in his own song. Along with Travis’s vocals the organ abruptly stops
and the beat changes which was made by a swiss producer Ozan Yildirim and a friend Mirsad Dervic who
was an appliance salesman. The vocal “Gimme the Loot” was credited to the late Notorious B.I.G. Swae
Lee, another big name artist, made vocal appearances throughout the song as well.
“Sicko Mode” was one of the main songs that launched Travis mainstream and made him such a
well known name throughout the world. He has had such an impact on the world now he has his own
meal currently selling at every McDonalds called “The Travis Scott meal”.
