I am choosing the profession of Elementary Education, for as long as I can remember I wanted

to be in the education profession. Before I started school I loved the idea of teaching others new

things that I knew, it didn’t have to be educational but things I observed around the world and

wanted to let others know about it. As I began going to school all my teachers inspired me to

become a teacher, I wanted to be that extra help for every student and push them to their full

potential. As far as knowledge and experience I learned a lot from when I was in charge of the

preschool throughout my high school years. I learned from making lesson plans to do the lesson

plans with the kids. Knowing they always looked forward to a great time of learning is such an

amazing feeling. I can't wait to continue learning and teach my students all the things I am

learning.

Educational psychology is very important in teaching and in the learning process. Not only does

it help solve issues in a classroom but can also help the students learn about the different kinds

of teaching and learning methods. Such as growth & development, human behavior, learning

experiences from each student. As far as my beliefs, I believe that every student is different in

their own way and learns at a different speed than the rest of the students. Although I know

every one of the students is capable of reaching their full potential in their own way. In

philosophy education, I feel as student’s understanding is the most important thing following

along with students should have access to hands-on experiments. It may not be for everyone

which is ok and every student will have the time to know which method helps them learn the

best.

Personal things I will implement in my classroom would be the basic rules each classroom

should have such as respect others like you want to be treated is a big, keep hands and feet to

yourselves and be ready to try your best every day. As far as student diversity, every student is

equal no matter what their skin color or how they look like, everyone will respect each other.
Behavior would always be an issue especially during kindergarten they are getting used to

being in a different environment which can be hard for them to adapt to and can get a little

overwhelming for them. Not very strict when it comes to behavior because they are kids and will

learn from their mistakes. Everyone has their own way of learning, some may be hands-on and

others can be by picking up a book, at such a young age they will continue to learn what they

are most comfortable with learning new things.

I have picked the profession of teaching and becoming a teacher, I have little experience but it

definitely does not mean I am not passionate about what I want to do in this career path. In

order to proceed and move forward in this career I will need to get my associate’s degree at the

College of Southern Nevada then will continue to study at the University of Las Vegas to receive

my bachelor’s degree in education. I know it will take a lot of dedication and passion to get

through the years but I can not wait till the day I have my own classroom motivating every

student to their full potential.
