I started by aesthetic lesson by playing the video “Colors of the Rainbow” by Jack
Hartman. This part of the lesson went very well. The video was interactive and allowed the
children to stand up, sing, and dance along with the video. The children were vey excited about
this and everyone participated. After the video, I showed the class a rainbow that I created out of
construction paper. I told the children that they were going to create their own rainbow however
they would like to. They became very excited and started asking me a lot of questions about the
rainbow I created and how they were going to make one. Then, the children went to centers and I
pulled 4 children aside at a time to create their rainbow. I had planned on everyone making their
rainbow at the same time, but my mentor teacher suggested that I do it during center time, calling
a couple of children at a time. This went well because I was able to have one-on-one time with
each child and help them if they needed it. I was also able to ask each child questions as they
created their rainbow. What did not go well was that other children did not want to wait to create
their rainbow and were getting upset. Some of the children repeatably came up to me to ask
when it was going to be their turn. Also, the children that created their rainbows first had more
time than the children that went last. To improve my lesson, I would have done the activity as a
whole group instead of pulling a couple of children at a time. This would allow each child to
have the same amount of time to do the activity and no one would feel left out. I would also
make the activity a little bit longer so that I would have time to go around to all the children and
ask them questions. However, when it was each child’s turn to do the activity, they loved it. Each
child became very creative and were very engaged. Overall, I was very satisfied with my lesson.
The lesson I created was very intriguing to the children. I was very happy with how much the
