If you are looking for a place away from the hustle and bustle but with all the necessary
amenities, Murcia is the way to go!

As far beaches are concerned, the region has a wide variety of different beaches to offer,
such as The beaches of Calblanque, of Calnegre or Cala Cortina.

In terms of cities in the Region, I am going to highlight for you Cartagena and Murcia.

Cartagena is the perfect place for culture vultures. With more than 3,000 years of
history, Cartagena offers many things to do. If you like hiking, you can do the route
from Cala Reona to Calblanque, a route that can be finished with a swim in the crystal-
clear waters of this natural park.

The capital of the Region is the city of Murcia; two defining characteristics of the city
are its good climate and cultural diversity. One of best assets of Murcia is that
everything is found within walking distance.

Both Murcia and Cartagena host universities, which might be an important point to take
into account if you have children.

On the whole, living costs in Murcia are cheaper than other autonomous communities.
As for rent, it depends on how central you want it and how big, but for example renting
a four-bedroom-flat near the centre would be around 800 euros.

Supermarkets are also quite affordable. Furthermore, nightlife is also cheap, so having a
night out would not break the bank.

In addition, there is an extended community of expats here, in case you ever get
nostalgic.

The weather is AMAZING, in my humble opinion. Hot as the summer may be, you will
enjoy the warm weather during spring and autumn; and winter is mild. Snow is only
really found on the tips of the mountains in isolated areas.

One of the best elements of this region is that every type of landscape is found, so you
can easily spot place to have a lovely picnic or any kind of excursion.

Personally, what I love about living here is the lively atmosphere, the impressive
weather and the gastronomy. Regional typical dishes will make you ask for more.
