What does the research say about advantages and disadvantages of distance
education?

1. LITERATURE REVIEW: (250 Words)

What does the literature/research say about this issue/topic? By using NAU
Library or Online Search engines, conduct a literature review.
• You need to include 5 different sources (book, journal article, web article
etc.) in your review. Try to use current sources as much as possible.
• You need to summarize and synthesize your sources by discussing a
common theme or issue.
• You don't need to critique your sources
• You don't need to evaluate your sources (if the sources are trustworthy,
weather the author has a bias or not)
• You need to provide background information such as history and
definitions
Literature Review:
Distance education is different from traditional teaching method that popular in
the 21th century. In remote distance education learners who are far away from
the source of that information. Distance education can be called as a remote
learning, e-learning or online learning etc. This types of learning is much easer
than traditional that does not need to attend physical. For that reason student
can find part time work for fee. Internet is essential supply to deliver online
learning in the last decade. “In an open society, with accelerated dynamics of
information dispersal in all areas it is difficult to access information through
traditional means. Therefore the online learning platform becomes indispensable”
(Indreica, 2014) Its advantages is: student can complete a degree or get
additional job training while balancing work and family commitments.
“Advantages included schedule flexibility for the teacher, opportunities for
creative on the part of teacher, opportunities for professional development,
opportunities to tech additional development in order to hold class meetings, and
a feeling of being better organized in an online course” (Hurt, 2008) The distance
education applied due to the global epidemic has also been considered as a
situation and the experiences of the participants regarding this situation have
been tried to be revealed. (Tamer Sari, 2020) Not easy face-to-face
communicating. Stops students' socialization process. Does not provide
adequate support for those learners without self-learning habits. Takes time of
the learners who are working for a position. Not get enough contributions from
the applied courses. Not efficient on actualizing behaviors for skill and attitudes
based conditions. Depends on the access to Internet and communication tools.

specific methods that you plan to use, etc.

Reflection:
I would like to talk about advantages and disadvantages of online learning.
It was not well known before the out break. After the pandemic every single of us
,as a teacher, try to find a way to teach subject to our future generation by using
some software or application on the internet. I found some articles that support
online learning. I also agree that distance of learning (DOL) has many advantages
such as Decreases the expenses in education, saving time for transportation that
has many opportunity like no heavy traffic, less noise and gas pollution Supports
learners to learn independently, Provides various educational models for people,
last but not least, student can join the lessons in every where that accessible to
the internet.
I am currently working as a math teacher in Iraq that is in the middle east.
Because of the pandemic, covid-19, ministry od education announced that school
will be online for some grades. For the main while our education company build an
software program that integrating to Zoom software to serve our students and
families. The program`s name is my-mercury.
For now I want to talk about how would I implement this research in my career.
This research gives many different perspective and approach to release in my
professional development. Online courses can help me to stay sharp, focused,
energized, and provide me with the skills and knowledge to understand and tackle
workplace issues. It enable me to continue adding value to my job and for my
employer statue. More importantly, going back to school online can provide me
with the flexibility that I need to build my career without sacrificing my job, family,
money or even my social life. Given the many advantages of online learning and
furthering my education, I can see that it’s worth trying!
