Gaurav is a Partner of the Real Estate team in Khaitan & Co.’s Kolkata office. Gaurav has more than
thirteen (13) years of experience in the profession and has advised some of the most reputed
international and domestic clients in complex transactions, his specialisation lying in real estate and
corporate and commercial laws.

Gaurav’s wide range of experience in Real Estate includes– legal due diligence of property, drafting/
vetting of term sheets, transfer documents such as conveyance deeds, leases, license agreements,
trust deeds, etc. and getting the same registered; conceiving trust structures and drafting Trust Deeds.
Gaurav has also advised various clients in drafting of construction contracts, project finance, EPC
contracts, SEZs, Joint Development Agreements, Infrastructure and Governmental Contracts including
preparation of bid documents. In the recent times, he has also advised clients on various aspects of
the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 (RERA) and Real Estate Investment Trusts.

Gaurav obtained his BA LLB (Hons.) from the National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata in 2007
and his PGDM/MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode in 2012. He is affiliated with
the Bar Council of Karnataka and is a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Banking (CAIIB) from
IIBF.

Prior to joining Khaitan & Co., Gaurav worked as an associate at AZB & Partners and as a Deputy
Manager (Law) at Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited, a Govt. Of India Undertaking.
Post MBA, he has also worked as an analyst, fund and compliance manager for Futures first, GHF
Group, London.

In his spare time, Gaurav loves to go on treks and play the sitar, in addition to binge watching movies.
