This document provides optional extra pages for a story about Jack and the Beanstalk, including choices for a writing prompt on a blank page, selections for the treasures found by Jack from the giant's castle, and a page with golden eggs that does not specify if they were laid by a goose or chicken. The document allows the reader to pick which extra pages to include based on the version of the story they read.

Choose which “extra” page options you want to include. Here are my samples. The blank, white area of the entrance to the cottage & castle, can also be used for a writing prompt. Because there are so many versions for this fairy tale, I’ve included 3 “treasures of the giant” page options, so you can select which one matches the story you read. Because some versions have a goose laying the golden eggs, while others have a chicken, I purposely just included a graphic of just the eggs. Students can fill in this detail verbally, while retelling the tale.
