BEFORE ILLNESS
Being the youngest son in the
family, he felt much
importance than his other
siblings. He laughs and
smiles at things that are of
interest to him. He is happy
and satisfied with his life
because his family is very
supportive to him.
DURING ILLNESS
His energy level decreased
when his asthma attacks. His
activities become limited; his
mother limits his playing time.
During his illness, he always
experienced DOB, easy
fatigability and cough. Still he
insist going to school for he
still can manage affirmed by
mother but requires her close
monitor of his condition.
DURING ILLNESS
At home, he told us that he is
sad because he is limited
with his activities like
playing due to the threat of
his disease that he is
experiencing. He tends to
show the same emotion as
prior to illness even if he is
feeling tired and short of
breath. Irritation and
grouchiness is hardly traced
on him because he would
then keep himself occupied
watching TV when his
asthma attacks.

HOSPITALIZATION
In the hospital he usually
stayed on his bed during
hospitalization. His physical
strength decrease due to easy
fatigue and shortness of
breath. He was assisted by his
mother in doing to use the
toilet for urinating and
defecating.

During his stay in the
hospital, he was afraid
making him cry because of
white coat anxiety. He was
afraid to see and touched by
nurses and doctors, thinking
that medical staff would
inject him needles or perform
medical intervention that
might cause him pain. Patient
was then noted to be irritable
and complain a lot to his
mother such instance during
coughing, tiredness and DOB
attack.
Analysis:

Deviation of emotion was noted to our client particularly when he was already confined in the
hospital. His irritability was mainly brought about by his condition (frequent coughing).

mingles with his playmates
but with limitation already
because of his disease.

social life has been affected.
He was confined in bed thus
making him stuck in the
room to associate and interact
with others aside from his
parents that watches over him
in the hospital.

There is deviation in his social life when there is the occurrence of illness especially during his
hospitalization for he can only interact with his parents who watches him during confinement.
