Guideline for Video Presentations –TRF 2020

1. The deadline to upload the video presentation is 9th December 2020 (Wednesday). The uploading
instructions will be given later.
2. The size of the recorded file should not exceed 50 MB.
3. The video format should be either .mp4 or .pptx
4. If you are presenting yourself in the video during the presentation, please use the virtual background (with
the UoM Logo given in the web site).
5. Please change the name of your file as per the below format

First name_Last name _Presentation Title

6. Presenters are encouraged to dress formally in the pre-recorded video presentation.


7. Maximum duration of the pre-recorded presentation is 10 minutes.

Instruction to record the presentation using Zoom


• Start a Zoom meeting as host.
• Click on the Record button.
• Click on the Share Screen button, and share your presentation.
• Start to present your work.
• Once you finish your presentation, stop Share Screen, then click on the Stop Recording button.
• When you end the meeting, your record will be automatically saved in your local drive.
• To get the record, click on the Meetings tab, then click on the Recorded tab → Open
• By default, the audio/video file (MP4) will be named Zoom_0.mp4.
• Please use the background template if you want to record your video.

Instruction to record the presentation using PowerPoint


Record narration and timings
• Select Slide Show > Record Slide Show.
• Choose from two options:
a) Record from Current Slide - to record from a specific slide
b) Record from Beginning - to record from the Beginning of a presentation
• When you're ready, select Record and start speaking.
• To record from a specific slide, go to it, and then select Record.
• There are some different ways to manage recordings in your presentation:
a) Pause - to pause a recording
b) Stop - to end a recording
c) Replay - to replay a recording
d) Pen, Highlighter, or Eraser - use the pen, highlighter, or eraser tools to mark up your recording
• When you're done recording, save your presentation as a PowerPoint file first.
• Then Select ‘File’, select ‘Export’ option, select ‘Create a Video’ option, select ‘Create Video’ icon on
your right hand side and then save the file.
• Your file will be converted and saved as a .mp4 file
