Scene 01
Direction: Moom JNR is waiting by the reception desk for luggage. He is nervous and anxious
Breakdown:
Moom JNR – standing around and waiting.
Waiting – Being idle, fidgeting and looking around at any noise. Twisting his ankles, rising up onto
ball of feet, rubbing hands.
The reception desk – a bell is noted on the desk for calling luggage collection. Moom may lean on
the desk?
Notes: This is the build up towards being shocked when the luggage bell rings. A bell may not be on the
reception desk as this means animating another character, but it will ring off screen.
Scene 02
Directions: Being distracted, Moom JNR jumps when the bell rings. Deciding to put on his headphones,
he starts to dance to the beat.
Breakdown:
Distracted – Looking around and not paying attention, may start fidgeting with his uniform,
buttons, hands.
Jumps – when the bell rings, Moom JNR is shocked/ surprised.
Headphones - Places headphones on and starts to play music, headphones starting point neck or
belt?
Dancing – small “bobbing”, nothing too extreme at this point.
Goal: to keep dancing subtle but notable, setting the rhythm for bigger dances to come.
Notes: The closing of his eyes may add to him becoming distracted by the music. Some sequences can
be done together, such as the jumping and catching weight. May need to reduce some animation.
Scene 03
Breakdown:
Moom JNR – becomes engrossed in the music.
Grabs – needs to get the trolley to collect bags.
Dancing – Moom continues to “move” to the beat of his music.
Trolley – may “slide” up to the trolley in a dance move before grabbing the trolley.
Goal: To figure out the distance between Moom JNR and the trolley in order reduce large amounts of
animation. Use smaller dances so to “slide” to the trolley.
Notes: The trolley may need to be closer to Moom JNR to reduce the need for a “walk cycle”. A spinning
move may be too much, but a small dance flourish can work. The end of the dance and the grabbing of the
trolley can be incorporated together.
Scene 04
Directions: Moom JNR grabs the trolley and goes off screen to collect the luggage. His dancing starts to
increase.
Breakdown:
Moom JNR – Still moving to the beat.
Off Screen – The actions continue once Moom JNR leaves off screen.
Dancing - Shoulders and hips slightly jigging, a little bending and twisting in the feet, ankles and
knees.
Goal: To place small dancing motions into to a walk cycle and to carry on into the next scene. Moom’s
“dancing” to build up.
Notes:
The turning and letting go of the trolley with one hand can be one movement. Keep the “dancing minimal”
so to not interfere too much with the walk. May need to reduce walking animation with quick static
effects.
All Rough Beat/ State changes – Story Board 1
Turns to walk.
Let’s go with one hand.

Scene 05
Breakdown:
Moom JNR – Still continues to dance to the beat.
Collect – Picking up bags/luggage and placing them onto the trolley.
Luggage – to be in a pile for collecting.
Dancing – Can add some bigger movements.
Goal: Add dance movement to the collecting of the bags, research needed on the 80’s style of dancing to
add maximum effect. Not to add anything with too much jumping as this will increase animation load.
Notes:
Not to have loads of backwards and forwarding in the collection of the bags, may place more empathises
on the dancing. Adding areas where he stops and hold his headphones and dances on the spot, adding
more distraction.
Scene 06
Directions: Moom SNR walks into the hotel. On seeing Moom JNR, he becomes weary. Moom SNR looks
at his watch and decides to check in.
Breakdown:
Moom JNR – Continues to collect bags, dancing increasing in momentum.
Moom SNR – Enters the hotel/ scene.
Seeing – SNR notes JNR and his dancing.
Weary – Becomes unsure whether to continue checking in?
Watch – A small, annoyed tick: conscious of time.
Check In – Decides to continue checking in regardless of apprehension
Goal: To continue Moom JNR’s dancing from the previous scene and to add a small pause in SNR walk
cycle as he notices JNR. A beat longer added to his apprehension and decision to continue one, this shows
confliction in his decision.
Notes: This amount of action maybe too big for one scene and can stretch into the next. The facial
expressions are key to showing Moom SNR’s hesitation, can become annoyed when looking at the watch
and realising the time. To reduce animation, may focus in on Moom SNR’s walking.
Scene 7 & 8
Collects bags.
Places them onto the trolley.

Scene 9
Direction: Moom SNR checks in, dropping his bag next to him.
Breakdown:
Moom SNR - walks quickly up to the desk.
Avoiding - Moom JNR and his dancing, may look around at JNR once or twice.
Drops - places Bag next to him, maybe heavily in annoyance.
Rings - the bell and waits.
Distracted – looks around whilst waiting, tapping of foot may start and crossing of arms.
Goal:
To show Moom SNR being wary and waiting for assistance. He is aware of Moom Jnr’s presence and may
continue to check where he is. Annoyance coming though in waiting, crossing arms and tapping foot.
Notes: Maybe too much animation for one scene, can stretch into the next. The crossing of arms and tapping of
foot can happen as one sequence.
Scene 10
Directions: Moom SNR waits for assistance, Moom JNR dances up behind Moom SNR whilst he is
distracted. Grabbing his bag, Moom JNR dances away to the music on his headphones.
Breakdown:
Moom SNR - is waiting for assistance, looking around annoyed. Tapping on foot increase and
conties to look down at watch. Maybe adding a shifting between feet.
Moom Jr – Dances into the scene towards Moom SNR.
Bag – Moom JNR swoops down in a dancing move to collect bag, spins and moon walks off.
Moom Jr – Dances off the screen.
Goal:
To reduce large dancing movements, showing empathises on the spinning on collecting bag and the moon walking
off.
Notes:
Try to keep dancing on movement minimal (more like a bobbing), may not be able to add the spin. May
have to just have him moonwalk off or find another dance that requires less animation. Moom SNR may
look the opposite direction so not to notice Moon JNR.
Scene 11
Directions: Moom SNR turns around, getting annoyed no one came for the bell and is confused when he
notices his bag is gone.
Breakdown:
Agitated - looking at watch one last time, tapping foot stops and flings arms down .
Turns around – maybe to storm out after picking up bag.
Confused - that bag has vanished.
Looks - Looking and turning around.
Goals:
To show Moom SNR’s agitation leading up to confusion when noting his bag has gone.
Notes: Some of these can be done together. Bending down, pause and straighten up can be a block. Must
be weary of time.
Scene 12
Directions: Moom SNR looks around and sees Moom JNR with his bag. Moom JNR continues to dance,
now using the luggage trolley to dance with.
Breakdown
Moom Snr – Looks around to see Moom Jr with bag.
Sees – Noticing Moom JNr with his bag, maybe swinging its around.
Bag – Get thrown into the trolley, showing little care about breaking anything.
Moom JNR – Moving though scene with the trolley, rolling forward slowly.
Goals:
Moom JNR to be movidancing on the trolley, swinging his arm around. Moom SNR shock when noticing
Moon JNR with his bag.
Notes: The swinging and throwing of the bag could be one movement. Keep dancing more like a bobbing,
his arms and head can do most of the movements. May not have Moom SNR be shocked, more annoyed,
reducing the jumping animation.

Scene 13
Directions: Moom SNR runs after the trolley, climbing on as Moom JNR does. They both grab the bag, the
dancing causing the trolley to start spinning.
Breakdown
Moom SNR - wants to get his bag back, visibly upset.
Runs - up to the trolley, may storms up instead.
Climbs – the other side of the trolley.
Moom JNR – stays on the trolley and dancing, swinging hips and bobbing head. Holding on with
both hands now.
Dancing – causes the trolley to start swaying/spinning.
Bag – they both grab it at the same time.
Goal: To show panic/annoyance in Moom SNR, Moom JNR’s dancing to build up so the trolley spins as he
jumps on.
Notes: Rather than Moon JNR jumping off and back on, he can spin the trolley with his foot or the force of
his dancing. Grabbing the bag does not have to be timed the same for both characters, Moom SNR can
start to bring the bag towards him first and then Moom JNR grab it back. Dancing here can be with one
arm and leg whilst the other hold on.
Scene 14
Directions:
The trolley spinning speeds up and Moom JNR continues to dance, using his arms/ foot to increase the
speed. Luggage starts to fly everywhere over the lobby and bursts open.
Breakdown:
Trolley – spinning speed increases, becoming a blur.
Moon JNR – continues to dance, using his foot to kick off and this arms to swing around.
Moom SNR – Holds on to the bag for dear life.
Luggage – Flies all over the lobby, bursts open on impact.
Goals: Spinning to cause blurring of characters, maybe to see the odd arm or leg due to Moom JNR’s
“dancing”. Static may be used to reduce the high amount of animation needs, showing key moments.
Luggage may not “burst open” but can cause damage instead.
Notes: More research will be needed to show the spinning correctly, use visibility and doubles with the
luggage flying. To continue into scene 15. Not all the luggage has to fly out of the trolley, reducing the
amount of animation needed.
Scene 15
Continuations of Scene 14.
Scene 16
Directions: Moom JNR jumps from the trolley as it continues to spin, now dressed like Moom SNR.
Breakdown:
Moom JNR – Jumps from the trolley as is still spins.
Trolley - continues to spin and move around the screen
Clothing – Moom JNR now wearing Moon SNR’s clothing and glasses.
Dancing – still bobbing to the beat where he landed, hips swiing and slight bends in his knees.
Arms – Moom JNR proudly lift his arms upwards when straighten ups, eyes now closed.
Goal: To create a success full jump from the trolley and imply weight on landing impact. This can be done
using the visibility and doubles of Moom JNR. The trolly can spin off the scene to reduce high amounts of
animations. This may mean zooming in the camera.
Notes: Reduce Moom JNR dancing to swaying and jigging. The landing and arm raising can be done as one
movement. Keep the trolley behind him and moves off scree, zooming on will help this. A pause may be
needed in waiting for the trolley to return, keeping Moom JNR “bopping”, static may be key to reducing
this.
Reduction
Moom SNR annoyed and runs/storms up to trolley.
Climbs on to the trolley

Scene 17
Directions: As the trolly spins, bags (including Moom Snr’s) land next to Moom JNR.
Breakdown:
Moom JNR – Stands upright, bobbing to the music. Arms raised. Hips, head, and feet moving.
Trolley – Spinning, comes back into the screen then leaves?
Luggage –flies into the into the air and lands next to Moom JNR.
Goal: To have the baggage fall with weight and to come at different times. This may happen as the trolley
moves past Moom JNR. The baggage may fly up in quick succession one after the other, so as to not to wait
for the trolley to appear again.
Notes: Moom JNR can do V hand dance across eyes and pulls his arms back just as the bag fall next to
him, keeping elaborate dancing to upper body only. Reduce animation in the spinning by making the trolley
go off screen.
Scene 18
Direction: Moom JNR bends down to grab both bags and dances away, taking Moom SNR’s place. Moom
JNR is completely unaware of the chaos around him.
Breakdown:
Moom JNR – Bending down and grabing bags in a dancing flourish.
Luggage – held up triumphantly in Moom JNR’s hands.
Dancing – Dances off screen happily, unaware.
Still keeping eyes closed?
Trolley - Appears back on screen, spinning and slowing down
Goal: The dancing maybe relates back to a major dance earlier noted and the continuation of Moon JNR
eyes being closed. The Spinning of the trolley may start to slow down Moom JNR dances off.
Notes: As Moom picks up the bags, he may strike a pose and then “moon walks” off. Slowing the trolley
down here will time with Moom JNR leaving, reducing the no luggage being thrown animations.
Scene 19
Direction: The trolley stops spinning and Moom SNR is still holding on, Moom SNR is dizzy is now dressed
in Moon JNR bell hop uniform.
Breakdown:
Moom SNR – dizzy and disoriented.
Holding on – Moom SNR is gripping tightly to the trolley, even after stopping.
Trolley – Stops spinning, may roll gently back and forwards.
Confusion – Moom SNR may his shake head to stop dizziness.
Clothing – Moom Snr now wearing Moom JNR’s uniform, unaware at this point.
Goal: To show Moom SNR’s confusion in what just happen, has not tagged on in the switching of clothing.
The trolley may roll gently as it comes to a stop and during Moom SNR’s head shaking. More subtle
animations here will bring maximum effect to the “dizzy state”.
Notes: having maximum use of Moon SNR’s facial expressions will fully show the change from dizziness
to confusion, body movement not priority here. This will reduce animation needs.
Scene 20
Direction: The Reception bell rings, causing Moom SNR to become more confused. He is told to pick up
the luggage.
Breakdown:
Moom SNR – Confused and still holding onto trolley.
Trolley – may continue to roll gently post spinning.
Reception bell rings – causes Moom SNR to look around, becoming more confused as to why they
are telling him.
Voice – Tells Moom SNR to “pick up the luggage”, believing he is a bell hop due to uniform.
Goal: To make the more subtle movements a little more obvious in the growing confusion. Head and
upper body movement areas needing to animation.
Notes: To add a small pause after looking down and realization sets in that he is wearing Moom Jnr’s
uniform. Maybe adding a small jump at being shouted at. His emotion may still be confused or may
change to annoyance. The Turning of his head and looking down can be one movement.
Reduction
Continues to stand, arms outstretched and bopping.

Scene 21
Direction: Moom SNR starts picking up all the luggage and places them onto the trolley.
Breakdown:
Moom SNR – Starts picking up and cleaning up.
Trolley – now static and being filled up with luggage.
Moom SNR seeming confused, maybe muttering.
Goal: Moom SNR’s expressions to change from confusion to frustration at Moom JNR, working to clean
up his disaster. Rather than picking up the strewn luggage, reducing animation but pushing the trolley off
screen may be better.
Notes: This ending may change to him jumping down and running off screen with the trolley. Changing
this ending will reduce the amount of animation required and voice over.
