Writing Resources

There are many different writing programs you may wish to use to write and layout your book. We suggest finding
one that will work for you.

1. Microsoft Word Processor

We highly recommend using word processor because it is the most universal and makes it easier when you
send your work off to editors.

2. Pages
Pages is the Apple equivalent to Word Processor. However, it is not universal so when working with an
editor and publisher, they might not be able to support that format.

3. Google Docs
Google Docs is similar to a Word Processor and is a great way to store and share information. You just
need a Gmail account to use it.

4. Evernote
Evernote is an online tool and app that you can use to organize notes and information when inspiration hits.
You can also access this information from your computer, your friend’s computer or your phone.

5. Scrivener
Scrivener is a powerful content-generation tool for writers. It helps you focus on longer and difficult
documents and gives you the tools to organize it. It also syncs up with Microsoft Word Processing so it can
be easily shared.

6. Dragon Dictation
If you are someone feels like things flow off your tongue easier, then Dragon Dictation might be for you.
This is an app that allows you to speak in your phone or computer and it will translate what you say into
words.

And always remember to SAVE YOUR WORK! It’s good to save, e-mail to yourself and have back-ups, just
in case!
