Keto diet Vs. High carb diet

If you are trying to decide on a High fat, low carb diet, or a High carb, low-fat diet, it is easy to

get confused about the benefits or the risks of each of them. Sometimes the anxiety of starting a

diet is noticeable because it is hard to train your mind and body. For that reason, in this paper, I

will explain the similarities and the differences of these different diets, how it will help them

with their daily life and in the future, and what they need to expect to start one of the diets. I will

explain both diets in general aspects, also the effects on blood sugar and cancer prevention.

Both higher carb, low-fat diets, and low carb, high-fat diets can work for weight loss, but a high-

fat diet has shown faster results than a high carb diet. For decades, the high-fat diet was

considered not good for the body, especially if you want to live a healthy life without any

disease. That is the reason why people used to follow a high carb diet to prevent any kind of

disease, however, the professionals of nutrition found that carbohydrates were a public enemy.

Around 15 to 20 years ago high carb, low-fat diets were known as “the way” to optimize health,

performance, stave off chronic disease, and lose weight. Furthermore, the high-fat diet while

your body can store dietary fat in adipose tissue, at the end of the day, if you are in an energy

deficit, you will still burn fat and lose weight.


The High fat, low carb diet is a diet that uses fat as energy, it means that you need to eat

fat (good fats) 75% of your food in a day, 20% of protein and only 5% of carbs. This allows your

body that while is in the process of metabolizing your food, it uses the fat burning for energy

which it is called Ketosis. Compared to high carb low-fat diet that plays an important role in

fatigue, uses carbs as energy (energy source known as Glycogen) that means that you need to eat

50% of your day carbs (good carbs) 35% of protein and only 15% of fat. High fat helps you lose

weight, is anti-inflammatory, and health-promoting. Eating low-carb, high-fat can improve your

mood, energy, and sleep.

While eating carbohydrates increases blood sugar and insulin levels, a high-carbohydrate diet

does not inherently lead to chronically elevated blood sugar, energy swings, or diabetes;

however, it does not improve them. If you already have diabetes, following a high-fat, low-

carbohydrate diet can improve your health by lowering blood glucose and reducing insulin

resistance. A comparison of a low-carbohydrate diet with a low-fat diet in patients with diabetes

found that low-carbohydrate diets achieved comparable reductions in weight and glycated

hemoglobin, which is a measure of your blood sugar over time. For this reason, following a high-

fat diet improves your sugar status, especially your health.

Most cancer cells depend on sugars. Diets that are very low in carbohydrates and high in fat can

reduce the risk of cancer compared to diets that are high in carbohydrates. In this diet, sugars are

prohibited in some fruits or any food. For patients with cancer cells, low-fat diets can increase

mortality compared to less carbohydrate consumption. On the other hand, a higher fat intake

(low in carbohydrates) can reduce the risk of cancer. According to doctors, patients who use the
ketogenic diet with other treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, or prescription drugs are

successful.

The decision to start a diet is really important in your life because it could help you now

and in your future. Starting a diet can be a great idea, however, taking the necessary precautions

is important and you should be informed about the benefits and risks you have with each one. It

must be taken into account that not all people react in the same way to certain diets. In this

article, I tried to explain some of the important points of a diet. A diet must be sustainable. It is

important that on a diet you can see the energy level because if it is something that makes you

sleepy, it is a sign that it is not working and changes may be needed. On the other hand, the level

of sugar in the blood can prevent serious diseases. Most importantly, cancer is something

everyone fears, so it's better to prevent it now than later. In my opinion, the best diet option is a

high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet.
