A cursory glance of the book gives a mirror image of the IELTS exam.

The twofold
reasons why IELTS is known as International English Language Testing System are:-
a) The test material contains examples of British, Australian and North American
varieties of English usage.
b) The test results are recognized worldwide as a reliable predictor of a candidate’s
ability to study and work in an English –speaking environment.
My teaching experience has shown that most of the Indian students who are non-native
English speakers , face a problem in securing the desired results in IELTS exam. Hence,
this practice book has been designed keeping in view all the parameters of the exam.
The aim to design a book is entirely practical, namely to teach the mechanisms and skills
of reading , writing and listening.
Lastly, the vocabulary used throughout has been restricted to words from common and
colloquial English rather than using quotations from English literature. The vocabulary
showcases judiciously selected articles written by Sam Mc Carter & Richard Judith
(UCLES). I hope that the book in its present form will meet the needs and requirements
for cracking the exam. All the best.
