Many French and English verbs dîner (to dine) répondre (to respond)
share the same origin despite the
different spelling. But be examiner (to examine) repéter (to repeat)
careful! Even though the verb

usage in French may vary
slightly. (For example, in French

“arriver” means “to arrive”
