Working Thesis: What is the experience you are writing about? Why is it important for you?
I want to write about immigration. It is important for me because is something that I am
actually living, it is my first experience, and I want to share my thoughts.
Introduction: What does your audience need to know in order to understand your story?
I am from Bolivia, a third world country with few opportunities. That is why I came here to learn
English, study and be a better professional for what I will have to live.
 Part 1: What Happened
o Major Event 1: I am a professional
 Important details
In my country you can easily open a business, but once you are there you
need to pay so much that hardly grows and improves.
o Major Event 2: What is going to happen to my future?
 Important details
It is important to mention that my parents have their own companies.
However, it is so hard to keep it growing. The government and the
country, in general, is untestable.
o Major Event 3: I found the love of my life
 Important details
I was coming to San Antonio to study, and my parents told me that the
son of a friend lived here, so my parents, my brothers, and I prepared
lunch to meet and get together with all our family, mine and his. I never
knew that day would change my life. Once I arrived with my sister in the
United States, he treated us very well. He is a Bolivian who found an
opportunity. We were in a distance relationship for a year and a half, and
for another year and a half, I lived next to him here in the United States.
It is a long story. We got engaged, and then we got married, and here we
are.
 Part 2: What It Means
o Meaning 1
 Why was this experience important?
It is something that changed my life completely, it is something that I
have never imagine. It is really hard to be here just with a visa, I am not
the kind of person who ever thought to leave her country. But here I am,
my life changed for a reason.
o Meaning 2
 How did you change as a result of this experience?
I change my marital status, probably I changed my hole future, because
now I am leaving here with my husband, however, my hole family is in
Bolivia, and I am a person who likes to be with his family a lot.

Conclusion: Why is it important for your readers to understand your experience?

Because I want to tell my story that I am living as an immigrant. It limits you to many things, for
example work, having to get permits for everything, for example travel. On the other hand, the
discrimination that is felt by some people, the rules that we must follow, and the insecurity of
being in a country that changes the rules constantly, and many more things from my
experience. Also, I want to share my story here, and that everything could happen.
