Describe an example of your leadership experience in which you have positively influenced

others, helped resolve disputes or contributed to group efforts over time.

During my junior year of high school, I was a vice president in a club called Maharlika

Club, it’s a filipino club that helps the students of Carson High School that’s members of the

club to learn more about the culture of the Philippines. The issues in the Philippines are also

informed to the members so that they are aware of what is happening in our homeland. I

contributed efforts, time to this club. I helped with fundraising and when there was a volcanic

eruption that happened in the Philippines, the members and officers helped to donate money to

the people who got affected by it, since many people were on evacuation and lost their homes.

Furthermore, I have positively influenced the members of the club by being a good listener and

great communicator. I have also helped some of the members that were struggling with

schoolworks, especially the people who were lower grade than I was; mostly freshmen. Since

there were some people who were new at school, especially those Filipinos, they had no idea

about where to go or how the schedule was so I have helped them with that also. Being a one of

the leaders of this club was one of my biggest accomplishments since it helped me gain

confidence with the goals that I set for the club. And my productivity was also improved which

I’m thankful for.
