Evaluate and comment on your partner’s cover letter for the job application. Study your partner’s documents and comment (make notes) on the following: - Layout? Is it according to instructions? Visually appealing? Why / Why not? - Greeting and date? Are they appropriate? Why / Why not? - Introduction part? Clear? Appropriate? The body paragraphs: - Reference to studies and how studies have developed the skills? - Reference to work experience and how the work experience have developed the person? - Reference to personal characteristics / soft skills? - Are evidence and examples presented? I.e. some specific reason / experience/achievement that would increase the chances for getting this job/ that would make the candidate more appealing as a potential employee? Conclusion? What is included? Is it appropriate in style? Language and spelling? Underline / correct mistakes. Polite and positive style? OR has the writer been over-confident (boasting) at some point? Is there any place where the writer could have expressed himself / herself in more positive way? The CV. Is the professional profile / professional summary well-worded, correct, clear and effective? Is the layout visually appealing? Is it easy to hone in on the key points? Is there a clear division between sections? Are there grammar and spelling mistakes? Is the font 11 or 12 pts? Question for consideration to the writer: Is there anything you would like to revise in your documents after having received feedback and looked at them with a fresh pair of eyes?
