E-Portfolio Reflection

This assignment I have chosen for my reflection is my most recent document interpretation. In general

the interpretations have been a bit of a challenge for me because it seems as if I always fall short by

missing some sort of criteria. The most recent one I did which was based on Moral Reform and

movements was one of my favorite to do so far. Throughout my document interpretation journey I started

off not completely understanding the full concept of them. I understood that I had to interpret the

document and relate it back to the readings/ videos that we had assigned. In the past I haven’t gotten full

points because I didn’t reference enough back to other readings but this time I worked harder and tried to

reassess what I have been doing wrong.

I felt really proud with his this assignment turned out because it was the first time where I read

something that was so intriguing to me and I actually felt confident in my interpretation. I was able to

read to document ‘What A Revival of Religion Is’ and was able to completely make my interpretation of

it. I did my research as well on Charles Finney and was even able to further develop my understanding of

the reading. I was most excited when other lessons/videos automatically popped up in my head and I was

able to relate back to it.

This was something that I had felt so proud of. I have always been one to try my best and follow

guidelines to get the best score possible and I felt like I was really able to see myself develop over the

past few Interpretations. I went from not really understanding everything that had to go into the

assignment, to understanding what had to be fun and even have fun while doing it. I felt so passionate

about the topic I did it on as well and found myself exceeding o ver the 500 word count just because I was

so excited to put it all together.

Overall, These assignments truly helped me develop my critical thinking skills and my ability to retain

information and relate it back to a document. I really felt like this week went very smoothly. I hope to

continue to further my critical thinking skills and become even better at being able to connect all my

learnings to one another.
