Artifact Reflection 3

This Document Interpretation was the last one I ever did and must be one of my favorites. It

almost felt like a full circle moment because Fitzhugh was someone that I had written about in

one of my previous interpretations and I was able to have a better understanding of him and

where he stood as a person. I defiantly got caught up in all the small details and felt very rushed

when I remembered I had to include sources and relate it back to everything I had learned in

that week. I would say throughout previous weeks I had struggled immensely with relating

things back in my document interpretations. This was one thing that I always told myself to

work on and I felt a bit discouraged to see that even in the end I was still struggling with this

part.

It was defiantly a challenge to me but It is a skill I know I can continue to work on through my

educational career and it will help improve any future assignments for me. The interpretations

itself were one of my favorite assignments to do because I love learning and reading new

documents but I have always had a problem with translating the information into my own

words. IN my previous reflections, I have talked about this struggle as well but I can proudly say

that after this semester and doing these assignments it has come a bit easier for me. I can read

the document take notes and write down exactly what I felt I read and even include my own

opinion on the document.

This assignment was very beneficial and I know I am going to incorporate the skills I’ve learned

into my future classes. The act of reading, and writings a short interpretation of it helps retain

the information better because not only am I reading it but I am also putting it into my own

words and having to remember what I read to form my own interpretation.
