Who am I? (Life map/Graph)

Personal Mission Statement (Calling and Purpose)

“To glorify God by training and equipping pastors and church leaders who do not have formal
bible training in the Philippines and other parts of the world.”

Values

True spirituality; Being true inside out.

God looks at the heart of every minister. It is good to remind myself of the fact that true
spirituality or integrity is the backbone of my ministry. And that the messenger is as
important as the message.

Family First

They are my first ministry and will serve as the barometer of my true effectiveness in
the ministry. How I relate to them reflects my proper perspective in the ministry.

Sensitivity to God’s sovereignty:

Be aware of how the Lord is working in my life. I must realize that God is seeing
everything that is happening in my life and that His hands are upon them

Determination, Go for it, whatever it takes

The work of the Lord is not a piece of cake or a simple walk at the park. There is going
to be a lot hindrances and hurdles to overcome. Determination will keep me pursuing
my vision.

Make use of God’s Gift

God has provided His workers with gifts and talents and because of this; I need to use it
and make possible ways to develop it for God’s glory.

Equal importance of People and Goals

I need to balance my treatment of goals and relationships. I need to share my life, be
transparent and be willing to invest my time with other possible leaders.

Perpetual Learning

The value of continuous education is also a trait that I should always pursue. I believe
that in order for me to become more effective in the ministry, I need to be a perpetual
learner.

Vision

As I pursue my life to be continually used in the training and equipping of pastors and church
leaders in the Philippines and Asia, I envisioned to see myself growing deeply in spiritual
authority through the area of prayer and thorough study of God’s word and personal
development (attending classes) so that I will be more credible and effective in the area of
leadership.

I envision that each of my family members discovering God’s unique calling for their lives,

I envisioned seeing myself as a mentor of certain leaders of a church, helping them develop
spiritually and also seeing their respective churches becoming obedient in fulfilling the Great
Commission.

I envisioned myself finishing my postgraduate study making myself equipped to equipped

others.

Where am I going?

Personal Development Steps: How do I get there?

I have to free myself from my present numerous responsibility.

Personal Development and Developing my Learning Skills

I have to finish my Doctorate studies (degree). An educator never stops learning. The
moment he stops, he starts to die. This saying continues to ring in my ear and heart.

And as part of my personal development and progressing in my learning skills, I plan to

take some review classes through IGSL program for their alumni. But these are still on
the drawing board.

Ministering to my family

I have to establish a definite time with my wife Tess and my children.

My life as a Mentor and a Team Member

My early life of mentoring allowed me to be spread to many places and people. God
allowed me to share my life and experiences with many. This time I am looking for
intentional and formal mentoring. This means, choosing a few and focus on them.
(Mindoro is in my mind)

Me as a Mentee

I have not arrived and I will never be until I arrived in His place. Because of this, I will
always be in need of someone to mentor me. I realized that I am in the stage of making
crucial decisions and because of this I need someone to share his wisdom and
experiences with me. I want to finish well. I want to leave an important legacy to my
family and I will not accomplish this by myself but through a corporate effort. Maybe I
can find this in the future church that I am praying to be involved with. But right now I
have at least 3 informal mentors (K Jim W, K Herman, and K Philip also Jim Cecy and plus
accountability group of pastors (Gil B, Francis C and Ojie B) that continually help me to
be what I am, what I ought to do and to be.

Conclusion

Just like Paul, I want to say at the end of my life, 2 Tim. 4:6-8

“For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; in the future there
is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to
me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.”
