Ajo (Glic) Cold Bust Tea
by C.E. Fles of Sviving Mexico
Is this suitable for kids? YES!
Ingredients: Supplies:
3-6 peeled and halved cloves ajo (garlic) pot to boil water
½ cup jugo de limón (lime juice) knife to peel and cut garlic
3 cups water measurement utensils
1 tsp miel (honey) (optional) strainer
tea cup
lemon squeezer (optional)
Instructions:
1. In a pot, bring 3 cups of water to boil with the garlic cloves.
2. Squeeze enough limes to get a 1/2 cup of juice.
3. Add the lime juice.
4. Strain out the garlic clove pieces as you fill your tea cup.
5. Add 1 teaspoon of honey to sweeten (optional).
If the garlic is overwhelming, add more lime juice. If you can get Melipona honey, use that.
Otherwise, organic honey is fine.

Cold Kick Hey
by Col Little R.H of Studio Botica
Is this suitable for kids? YES!
Ingredients: Supplies:
ginger root, fresh sliced or grated cutting board
horseradish root, fresh sliced or grated sharp knife
raw honey (local preferred) grater or microplane
glass jars with good lids
wooden chopstick, small wood
spoon or glass straw
Instructions:
1. Chop or grate the ginger root and the horseradish root.
2. Add to raw honey in a glass jar.
3. Use a chopstick or small wooden spoon to poke a little at the herbs to allow them to
mix well with the honey and any air bubbles to release.
4. Put a good fitting lid on the jar and store in a cupboard for a few weeks.
Adjust the amounts of ginger and horseradish root according to the size of the jar! I can
almost always find fresh horseradish root at my local grocery store, but if you are unable
to locate fresh root, the jarred version can be used.
Add the honey'd ginger and horseradish pieces to soups or stews! Freshly chopped garlic
can definitely be added to the recipe. I tend to make “garlic honey” in a separate jar, but
any anti-microbial herbs bathed in raw honey can become a fantastic immuno-supportive
remedy!

Decgestt Oxymel
by Heidi Villes, MA of Healing Hvest
Hestead
Is this suitable for kids? YES!
Ingredients: Supplies:
1/2 cup lemon juice saucepan
1/2 cup raw apple cider vinegar strainer
1/4 to 1/2 cup organic honey bottle to store it
1 Tbsp powdered ginger OR 2 Tbsp fresh, minced ginger
1/2 tsp cayenne powder
1 to 2 tsp powdered cinnamon
1 tsp freshly grated horseradish root (optional)
Instructions:
1. Add all ingredients to a saucepan.
2. Bring to a simmer on LOW for about 5 to 10 minutes. Just a nice, low simmer - not a
boil. The longer you allow it to simmer, the thicker it will be - so adjust the time
accordingly.
3. Remove the pan from the heat and strain off the liquid using the mesh strainer.
4. Once cooled, bottle the liquid. It will store on the counter for up to a week and in the
refrigerator for two to three weeks.
*It's safe for children over two. However, be sure to test the heat due to the cayenne
pepper and adjust as needed.

Kit Spices Cough Syr
by Hbal Acady
Is this suitable for kids? YES!
Ingredients: Supplies:
1/3 cup dried or 1/2cup fresh thyme (Thymus saucepan
vulgaris) aerial parts strainer
1/8 cup anise (Pimpinella anisum), fennel (Foeniculum dark-colored bottle or jar
vulgare), or cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum) seed funnel
1 cup (8 fl oz) water
1/2 -2 cups (6-25 oz) raw honey
Instructions:
1. Bring water to a boil.
2. Place herbs in a small saucepan.
3. Prepare a concentrated herbal infusion: pour 1 cup of just-off-the-boil water over
dried herbs. Steep for 20-40 minutes, covered.
4. Strain infusion and return liquid to the saucepan.
5. Add ½ to 2 cups of raw honey. If made with ½ cup of honey, the syrup will have a shelf
life of 3 weeks, refrigerated; if made with 2 cups of honey, the syrup will have a shelf life
of 1 year, refrigerated (Cech, 2000; Gladstar, 2012).
6. Warm mixture just slightly to enable the liquid and sweetener to mix. Avoid heating
above 110 degrees F (Cech, 2000).
7. Transfer syrup to a sanitized bottle or jar (ideally, a dark-colored jar to protect from
light exposure) using a sanitized funnel and cap tightly.
8. Label and store in the refrigerator.
9. Take 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon as needed.
Ingredients: Supplies:
5 drops siberian fir 10ml roller bottle
5 drops arborvitae
5 drops oregano
5 drops rosemary
5 drops myrrh
fractionated coconut oil
Instructions:
1. Drop essential oils into a roller bottle. Swirl to combine.
2. Top with fractionated coconut oil.
3. Secure roller lid.
4. Roll on your sinuses throughout the day to provide relief from pain, congestion, and
pressure.
Oregano and arborvitae essential oils are very hot oils and can burn the skin when
applied undiluted. Use gloves or a dropper when placing them in the roller bottle
This roller bottle is not very strong, since it is being applied to your face and rolled over
your sinuses. This is because it is near your eyes. Be careful not to rub the oils into your
eyes as they will burn. If that happens, apply a tiny bit of vegetable oil to the corner of
your eye to pull the oil out. Do not rub your eyes or apply anything directly to your eye.

2 parts peppermint leaf (Mentha x piperita) mug
1 part hyssop (Hyssopus vulgaris) sealed container
1 part marshmallow leaf (Althaea officinalis) spoon

minutes.
4. Add honey to taste, if desired. Enjoy 3 or more times per day during respiratory
congestion.
Note: Mullein leaves are covered in very fine hairs that can irritate your throat. Make sure to
strain this well, using a reusable muslin tea bag or another cloth strainer to avoid any tickly
irritation.
Mullein leaf and hyssop provide excellent respiratory support in this blend. Peppermint leaf
adds delicious flavor and encourages open airways. Marshmallow leaf is a soothing demulcent
herb that can calm irritated respiratory tissue.

Esstial Oil All Bett Bld
by Jni Wils, Mast Hbalist of
Nal Oil M
Is this suitable for kids? YES!
Ingredients: Supplies:
12 drops tea tree essential oil 5 ml glass bottle with orifice and
12 drops clove bud essential oil lid (not a roller)
12 drops rosemary essential oil
8 drops helichrysum essential oil
1 tsp fractionated coconut oil
Instructions:
1. Drip your essential oils into your bottle first.
2. Add your coconut oil.
3. Put on the orifice and lid, and shake well.
Don't worry if you add an extra drop of the essential oil than the recipe calls for. I know
that helichrysum is an expensive oil, but for me it's worth it. You can substitute a high
quality frankincense, but helichrysum is invaluable for emergency applications

Willow Bk Tincte
by Ksti Ste of Ste Fily Fmstead
Is this suitable for kids? NO!
Ingredients: Supplies:
white willow bark (bark pieces are best, clean, dry pint mason jar with a
but powder is fine) tight-fitting lid
vodka, at least 80 proof (cheap is fine) strainer
muslin cheesecloth (optional)
bottle for finished product
Instructions:
1. Pour about 2 inches of herbs into the jar, then cover with your vodka by about 2-3
inches.
2. Seal the jar with a tight-fitting lid.
3. Allow the herbs to sit in the jar for a couple of days until they settle, at which point you
will decide if you need to top off your mixture with vodka. (You would only need to do this
if the herbs “grew” and absorbed enough of the vodka that they were no longer sub-
merged. This is not common with roots or bark, but still walk through the step just in
case.)
4. Allow to sit in a sunny windowsill for 4-6 weeks. Shake daily or at least a few times per
week, which will allow the herbs and vodka to mix thoroughly.
5. After the 4-6 weeks, strain your tincture by laying the muslin cheesecloth into the
strainer and pour contents from the mason jar into the strainer. Gather up the cheese-
cloth and squeeze all of the liquid out of the herbs.
6. Pour the liquid into a clean glass jar with a tight-fitting lid. Will keep for many years if
you store in a cool, dry, dark spot, like inside of a cabinet.
To use (adults): 2-5mL (1/2-1 tsp), 2-3x/day. Start with the smaller measure, then if needed, try
the larger on the next dose.

1 tablespoon warm water

Hbal Hey Thro Spy (pt 2)
Instructions:
1. Mix all of the ingredients together and pour into a 2 ounce glass spray bottle.
2. Spray into your mouth, directed towards your throat, as needed. When made with
tinctures, this throat spray will last for several weeks, stored in your refrigerator.
When made with tinctures, and not tea, the shelf life of the throat spray will be around 3
weeks, if stored in the refrigerator between uses.
If you don’t want to use alcohol based tinctures, you can make this recipe with a strong
herbal tea instead. Just be sure to keep the resulting spray in your refrigerator and be
aware that the shelf life will be reduced to about 2 days.
To make a strong herbal tea: put 1 or 2 tablespoons of dried herbs, or 2 to 4 Tbsp fresh
herbs, in a heat proof jar and pour a cup of simmering hot water over them.
Let this steep for at least an hour, or more. The longer it steeps, the stronger the tea will
be.
Strain and use in the recipe above instead of the tinctures and water. Extra tea can be
frozen in ice cube trays for later use.

1. Weigh tallow, olive, and coconut oil and place in a large pot. Melt over medium heat and
then allow to cool to 90 degrees F.
2. Weigh water and set aside. Weigh Lye in a zip close bag. Wearing protective gloves and
a charcoal mask, go outside and pour lye into water and stir until dissolved. Do not
breathe in fumes. It will dissipate in 1-2 minutes. Allow to cool to around 90 degrees
Fahrenheit.

6. Pour into prepared mold and insulate lightly for 24 hours.
7. Remove from mold and cut. Allow to cure for 3-6 weeks.
Supplies:
Ingredients: saucepan for boiling water
1-pint size mason jar for infusing oil
1/2 cup coconut oil strainer
1 1/2 Tbsp plantain leaves silicone spatula
1 1/2 Tbsp calendula 1 half pint mason jar for storing salve
2 Tbsp castor oil
2 Tbsp beeswax
1 Tbsp activated charcoal Hints, Tips & Sstitutis
1 Tbsp bentonite clay
25 drops lavender essential oil To use: Put drawing salve on thorns, splinters, bug
15 drops tea tree essential oil bites, rashes, or any other skin issue where you
need to draw something out. You can leave it on
for up to 12 hours. The charcoal can stain things
so be sure to put a bandage over the black drawing
Instructions: salve.
1. Put the coconut oil and the herbs in the pint-size mason jar.
2. Put the jar in the saucepan and carefully add water to the saucepan - don't get any
water in the jar. The water needs to be about halfway up the jar.
3. Bring the water to a boil over medium high heat.
4. Turn the heat down to low and let the water simmer for 2 hours. Make sure all the
water doesn't evaporate.
5. Remove the pan from the heat.
6. Strain the herbs from the coconut oil.
7. Put the strained infused oil into a half pint size mason jar.
8. Add castor oil and beeswax.
9. Put mason jar in the pan with a bit of water and melt beeswax over medium heat. Be
careful that none of the water gets into the jar with the oil and beeswax.
10. Once the beeswax is melted, remove the jar from the pan and stir in activated char-
coal, bentonite clay, lavender and tea tree oils.
11. As the salve cools, it will firm up. I usually just leave it in the jar I made it in, but it can
be transferred into smaller tins while it's still warm.
12. Over time, all oils go rancid, so use the drawing salve up within a year, and don't use it
if it smells rancid before a year's time.

2 parts roasted dandelion root pieces bowl

2 parts cinnamon chips (Cinnamomum verum or C.
burmanni)
1 part ginger root pieces (Zingiber officinale)
1 part hulled cardamom seeds (Elettaria cardamomum)
1/2 part licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra)
raw honey and milk of choice to taste, optional
Instructions:
1. Combine all of the herbs in a bowl and transfer to a jar.
2. To brew the chai, place approximately 1 tablespoon herb blend in a pot with 1 quart of cold
water. Bring the pot to a light boil and simmer, slightly covered, for 30 minutes.
3. Strain the chai through a metal mesh strainer and into a mug. Add honey and milk, as desired.
4. Additional water can be added to the herbs and chai in the pot to brew a second slightly
weaker batch. After brewing, compost the herbs and keep any leftover chai in the refrigerator
for up to 24 hours.
The "parts" in this recipe can be any consistent measurement you choose. If you mix up a small
batch of this blend using a teaspoon as your part, you'll combine 4 teaspoons eleuthero root, 2
teaspoons roasted dandelion root, 2 teaspoons cinnamon chips, and so on.
Eleuthero is a nourishing adaptogen that helps the body deal with stress. Dandelion root
encourages healthy liver function and natural detoxification, and lends a deep flavor to the
blend. Cinnamon, ginger, and cardamom provide a sweet, spicy taste and promote good diges-
tion. Licorice root adds a touch of sweetness and provides additional health benefits to the gut. 53
