ASSESSMENT OF NEEDS, GOALS (MEASURABLE), JUSTIFICATION

The overall objective of our intervention is two-fold – based on career aspirations and linguistic skills
improvement.

Based on our initial interaction, we understood that the kids have a vague idea of what they want to
be, but it is based on the functional understanding of their favorite subjects. Thus, within career
aspirations, we wish to invoke a thought process in students concerning the various facets of the
career selection method. In no way do we want to decide for them/ force them to finalize a
profession now. Our specific objectives within career aspirations are-

 Impart knowledge about the broad options available


 Nudge them towards the relevant parameters to be considered in the decision-making
 Inform them of the next steps and skillset needs (technical and soft) for the broad categories
 Provide a repository of the necessary knowhow and famous journeys in few fields

Since the intervention is focussed on expanding the thinking horizon of the kids, it isn't easy to track
this with objective measures. However, we will compare the diversity of professions known, the
rationale for their choices and information about processes, before and after the intervention to
measure impact.

The kids lacked fluency in English, and hence, for improvement in linguistic skills, we wish to focus
more on conversational English. The objective will be to ensure a level up of all the kids from their
current levels. We will use an assessment pre and post the intervention to map them into English
proficiency levels and measure the delta.
