1. Exercise HAND-IN-HAND 2019 is to be conducted at Umroi, Meghalaya. The 8th India-China joint training is held under
the United Nations mandate. The exercise will be held from 7-20 December 2019.

2. The Department of Justice (DOJ) has launched a programme to create awareness of their fundamental duties among
the citizens

3. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has launched the Political Parties Registration Tracking Management System
(PPRTMS). ECI has reviewed the system and process of registration of political parties.

4. Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio inaugurated the Multi-Media Exhibition at the World War II museum at the Hornbill festival,
Kisama, Nagaland.

5. The Ministry of Human Resource Development informed Lok Sabha that the “Indian Ranking Society” was approved by
the ministry in August 2019. The aim of the society is to develop methodologies and systems to rank higher educational
institutions in the country.

6. The National Assembly of Republic of Mauritius has unanimously elected Prithvirajsing Roopun, as new President of the
island nation, a largely ceremonial post. He was former arts and culture minister of country.

7. Lok Sabha passed the Taxation Laws (Amendment) bill, 2019. The main objective of the bill is to provide an option for
the domestic companies to pay taxes at the rate of 22%.

8. The centre is launching a nationwide vaccination drive to prevent eight diseases under Intensified Mission Indradhanush
2.0 across the country

9. The Global Migration Film Festival (GMFF) was organised in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The festival screened 15 films on the
theme of “migration and its various aspects”.

10. English author Tony Joseph has won the 12th ‘Shakti Bhatt First Book Prize’.

11. Star wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik registered convincing wins in the finals to claim gold medals at the Senior
Wrestling National Championships in Jalandhar, Punjab

12. Former Hollywood actress Shelley Morrison passed away recently.
