1. Please introduce yourself?

My name is Muhammad Reza Wardani.

I am xx years old. I was born in Banyuwangi at 30 November 19xx.
I come from Banyuwangi, East Java.
My father’s job is a carpenter, and my mother’s job is a house wife.
I have 1 sibling(s), 1 younger sister/brother.
My hobbies are reading, writing, and traveling.
I am a Deck/Engine Cadet from Merchant Marine Academy [Name of Academy]
2.       Why do you choose to become a seamen? What is your reason?
I want to be a seaman because I was inspired by my uncle. My uncle is a seaman and become
an officer on board. He is a successful person and able to provide family with a good life. I
want to be like him. I like to travel and want to visit another countries, I do believe I can
reach my dream.
3.       On board the vessel, there are multinational crew with different culture and religion, is
that becoming problem for you?
It’s not a problem for me to have multinational crew on board, because I am used to face it.
In my academy various ethnic and religion came across Indonesia studied there, and I could
adapt with the environment easily. And during my vacation in my hometown, my friend often
to ask me to help him guide foreign tourist. We always share and discuss so many things
about culture and habit of different country.
4.       How was the response from your family with this job? Is it okay for you to leave for
months?
My family supported me to be a seaman, because I am their next hope and I am supposed to
help my family’s economy. For sure homesick will come if away from family, it’s a human
being. But the reasons why I shall go and come back again with success, are way stronger
than homesick itself.
5.       Please describe your personality, explain me your strength and weakness?
My weaknesses are:
–        Sometimes I do a job or task way too much care about details, so need to take more
time which actually I can use it to finish another task.
–        I can’t force myself to study or do a task in tired or sleepy condition. Because if I do
so, I can lost my concentration and in worse case I can suddenly sleep during doing the task.
My strengths are:
–        I can easily adapt with new environment and in my opinion I have a good teamwork
ability because I joined several organizations and activities in my academy.
–        I am a patient man, even in a tough situation or under pressure I can control myself, not
getting in anger or hurry, and remain calm to assess the situation.
6.       Compared with other candidates, why do I shall choose you to become a cadet?
Compared with other candidates, my English is quite good in reading, speaking, listening and
writing. I have a strong willing and eager to learn. I have knowledge from Academy and
experience to deal with people from my organizations. And from my side, I will show my
good performance and I will do the best I can for your good company.
7.       What is your target position on board?
My target is to be a Master/Captain
8.       How long do you want to become a seaman? And Why?
      I want to be a seaman for 10years. Because I have a plan to work ashore as a professional
in maritime industry and I want to join your shore based company as superintendent/fleet-
manager/etc.
9.       Why do you choose this company? And what do you know about us?

vessels consist of containers, tankers, bulk carriers, and also managing hundreds of other
vessels.
