Nationalism is the undiscriminating devotion to the interests or culture of our own nation. It is showing our love and support for the country to prosper. Nationalism is also important in order to maintain unity amidst diversity among the citizens of a country. Its purpose is to develop a sense of belonging for the people in the country towards their nation. Because of this, it is important for is to inculcate nationalism in our values as citizens of this nation. In this poster, I emphasized on patronization of our own products, resources and culture. Through this, economic and social benefit will be gained that will improve the quality of life in our country. In this time of the pandemic and calamities, nationalism is also important. I included how Filipinos do “bayanihan” or how they help each other during times like this and how they are trying to cope up and stand on their feet again. One more thing that I think where nationalism is evident is when Filipinos voice out their opinions and resentment against issues in our country. Most are aware and not ignorant of this issue, instead, they fight for their rights and exercise their freedom of speech. Lastly and most importantly, nationalism is also evident even in differences or diversities with people and their cultures. We, Filipinos, respect and value each other bringing unity within the nation. This unity will help us achieve our goals and aspirations together. As one, we can all progress and bring our nation to development. The overall message of this poster is how us, Filipinos, view nationalism and inculcate it in order to thrive as a nation. We must keep on helping our country to grow for the future generations as well. Today, in the 21st century, despite globalization and technology making our world a smaller place and affecting nationalism, it is overwhelming how nationalism still thrives in the hearts of the Filipinos. We must keep this up and continue to believe in the visions and power of our country to lead it to prosperity.
