Explaining what a law says

There are several ways to refer to what a law says. Look at these sentences:

The law stipulates that corporations must have three governing bodies.
The law provides that a witness must be present.
The patent law specifies that the subject matter must be ‘useful’.

These verbs can also be used to express what a law says:

The law states (spune, prevede)/ sets forth (specifică faptul că, expune) / determines / lays down
(formulează, enunță) / prescribes that (recomandă) ...

Choose a law in your jurisdiction that you are familiar with and explain what it says using the verbs
listed above.

Write at least 15 lines in which you should refer to:

- what the law provides
- the possible punishment/sentence for its breach (if applicable)
- the area of law to which it belongs (civil law, criminal law, employment law, etc)
- the persons or companies that the law addresses
- any changes/amendments that you would like to make in order for the respective law to be
improved
- any other aspects that you find important or worth mentioning.

Important! In your assignment, DO NOT describe an entire code! (the Civil code, the Criminal code,
etc.) It is too general. You must choose a specific law from any of these codes.
