Proposal for the international festival in London

Introduction
The aim of this report is to outline my suggestions with regards our country’s
contribution to the international festival in London.

Our national history

It is clear that Romania has a rich history. Dating from the Roman Era, the territory
that is currently Romania had suffered many changes throughout its history. This
has shaped to way Romania’s culture that has developed over the years. Romania
has a lot of very old religious sites. In the northern part of Romania, there are
numerous churches, most of them being over 500 years old. I do suggest having a
map of Bucovina on display, with pictures of Romanian churches pinned to it.

Communist background
The communist period of Romania was one of the most influential periods of our
history. In 1989, during a period of violent civil unrest, the Romanian people
executed their dictator, putting an end to the communist regime. The Palace of the
Parliament in Bucharest is the second biggest building in the world, being a
symbol of communism, I think that a miniature model of the building and a
slideshow of pictures from the Romanian Revolution around it would be a great
way to mark the transition of Romania from a communist country to a democratic
one.

Outdoor life
Romania has great landscapes, stunning mountain peaks, rustic fields and virgin
forests. I think having really big prints of Romanian landscapes next to some
traditional clothing and handmade tools would surely promote the beauty of
Romania’s wilderness and the simple lives people used to have in the nature. Also,
I think having some traditional Romanian music in the background would enhance
the experience.

Conclusion
I am positive that my proposal would give visitors a better understanding of
Romanian culture, and I hope it meets with your approval.
