Life a from a wheelchair

What does Ashley do for a living?

Ashley is currently studying communication at the university trying to overcome obstacles
that would not be present if she did not have her disability.

How does her condition affect her daily activities and how does she deal with it?

Daily activities are more difficult for her than for other people because of her disability, so
she must have a lot of courage and always go the extra mile. If Ashley's life was the same
as everyone else's, she would do things normally, but by her illness she does things her
way.

What is her attitude towards life? Does she feel disabled from certain activities?

Ashley is very optimistic and she go with the flow, so she adapts easily to any activity. She
always tries to do things at her own pace but with the goal of fulfilling as others do.

How would your life be different if you were handicapped and had to use a wheelchair?
What would be different for you? (Use mixed conditionals in the answer).

If I were handicapped, my life would be totally different, because in most of my daily

activities I have to use my legs. The most important thing about this situation in a person is
knowing how to deal with it, therefore, if I were disabled, I would have to be different but
equal or more optimistic. I would try to see life as Ashley with determination and to do
things my way however difficult they are.

How do you react when you have to interact with a handicapped person?

I try to be as kind as possible because that person is struggling to get ahead and if I were in
that condition, it would be very frustrating to be treated as a person of lesser value.
How can you contribute to improve the life of handicapped people?
What disabled people need most is to be convinced to strive to meet goals, so if I have the
opportunity to meet a person in this condition, I would convince him that he has all the
skills to play a role and fulfill a task .
