Audi Quattro Driving Tips

The Quattro is a very easy car to drive. Although it is over 30 years old it is very similar to the
cars we drive today, 5 speed gearbox, power steering, automatic choke, etc.

The car drives and handles superbly as you would expect with such a rally pedigree

CONTROLS

The controls are very easy to use and understand.

There is a dashboard speedo and rev counter and smaller gauges for turbocharger pressure
and fuel

Indicators are on the left hand steering wheel stalk and wipers are on the right

Lights are controlled by dashboard switches

There is a differential lock in the centre console do not use it

STARTING PROCEDURE

The Quattro has an automatic choke and starting is the same as a modern car

GEARBOX

The car has a five speed gearbox with reverse pressed down pulled to the right and then
back, the gears are very easy to use

DRIVING

To get the best out of the Quattro keep the engine revs on the high side taking care not to
over rev it

The Quattro compares very favourably to modern cars and is an accomplished performer in
terms of speed and handling

FUEL

The Quattro runs on unleaded fuel, the filler cap is located at the rear of the car on the driver
side

BOOT SPACE

The Quattro has a modest sized boot suitable for airline cabin sized luggage
