National budget 2020-2021

1. National budget is a financial estimate about a government earnings & expenditure over a year.

3. The finance minister rolled out the budget with an outlay of tk 5, 68,000 crore for the financial
year 2020-21.
4. It excluding foreign grants the budget deficit stands tk 1, 90,000 crore accounting for 6% of GDP.
5. The country is currently reeling under sever negative economic & social impact arising from
covid-19 pandemic.
6. The budget allocated tk 29,692 crore for the healthcare sector.
7. This represents an increase by 23% from the revised allocation of tk 23,692 crore for the fiscal
year 2019-2020.
8. The budget earmarked tk 10,000 crore exclusively to provide emergency responses to deal with
the pandemic.
9. The enhanced budget allocation for the healthcare sector & stimulus package announced are
