The Da Vinci surgical

This new robotic surgical assistance system known as da Vinci surgical system is a set of advance
instruments. They help the surgeons by performing surgery while the surgeon controls the surgery
through a console. This system also gives images of the surgical areas. This system is very precise and is
really helpful for surgeons as it can operate within small spaces and the incision for the surgery doesn’t
need to be big anymore.

Both articles talk about the same problem, which are the complications that happen through procedures
done using the Da Vinci instruments. But both articles are written in a different way with different data
used. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that one article is better and more detailed as compared to the other
one. First of all, the quality of pictures used in the NBC article are clear, with a good resolution. Whereas
the pictures in daily news article have bad quality. Secondly in the daily news article, same information is
used two to three times in different part of the article, which gives a bad impression to the readers, as
they lose interest due to reading same information multiple times in the article. In the NBC article no
information is repeated again and again. Whereas it flows smoothly, with new information. The daily
news article is written in a biased tone, with more focus on blaming the company and product for these
faults, rather than blaming other factors which are equally as important. Whereas in the NBC article,
they keep a neutral tone. With blaming doctors and surgeons for lack of practice on these instruments.
In the daily news article, the reports for adverse events are believed to be true and accurate. Whereas
the other article argues that these reports are not necessarily true and accurate due to limitations. The
daily news article gives details of three to four accidents that happened due to robotic surgery whereas
the NBC article only focuses on the details of one incident. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that NBC article is
better that the daily news article and can be classified as a good article whereas the daily news article
can be deemed as a bad example in this case.
