Objectives of the Study

The overall objective of this study was to increase the understanding of SMEs in the apparel retailing
market in Digos City. More specifically, the objectives were to:

1. Assess the evolution and current status of small and medium-sized businesses in the Digos City
domestic apparel retailing market.

2. Identify the threats and opportunities affecting domestic apparel retailing in Digos City for
entrepreneurs running SMEs.

3. Apply relevant theories in order to fully understand the development and growth prospects of Digos’
apparel retail market and the opportunities for SMEs.

4. Propose a set of testable suggestions in relation to the obstacles, prospects and performance drivers
of entrepreneurs in the Digos City apparel retail sector related to the growth of SMEs.
