Questions for Jack:


How many people in total that work in the engineering department that will have to make use
of the new Toshiba e-STUDIO 4540c Series printer?
What are their knowledge level about printers?
What is the most used type of job that needs to be printed?
Do they use coloured printing or on black and white?
Can it be only a step-by-step or do you want the document explain very detailed all the
steps?

1.Write an executive summary

User needs: There are a great range of functions that Toshiba e-Studio does. It is possible to
print varied sizes of paper, black or coloured. Multi-type of jobs, schedule and private print.
Each copy can be tracked and checked by the administrator as well as the number of copies
printed by departments.

There is a need to know the type of user and their respective knowledge regarding IT tasks,
such as operating systems usability, level of expertise on computer software, among others,
taking into consideration the different types of users - expert users, new users and
occasional users

Proposed template solution:


An online user manual template would be a best solution so that users only search or look
for information into the template and every document will have the same standards, avoiding
wrong information and making it easier for everyone involved.

What tools might be useful to create the templates:

Microsoft Word
Microsoft PowerPoint
Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Illustrator

2. Prepare a suitable template for the online help system, making sure that it meets
guidelines described in AS/NZS ISO/IEC 15910:2004.

3. Submit the template and the summary to your instructor together with a short note
that he or she can sign to show approval. Be prepared to make amendments, if
needed, before approval is given.
