3. What is Person-Organization fit? How important is it?
Answer: The person-organization fit depicts the chemistry between
two parties – organization and employees. The more they fit together, the more outcomes the organization generates. A good fit between these two parties boosts employee performance by ensuring their job satisfaction and reduces the turnover. So, it is one of the most important aspect for any organizations. As an example, I want to mention my organization culture. After a successful interview, my organization provided an opportunity to work with them for three days initially, so that I can understand their work environment and they can read my capabilities. After three days working with them, I had to submit a SWOT report on what I observed about their total work procedures. Thus, the P-O fit happens in my work sector. Later after my recruitment, my working hour was flexible as my duties were mostly creative whereas others have to perform their job according the daily routine. This flexibility in working time inspired me to work out of office hours and helped me bring out my best. This whole scenario clearly shows a good P-O fit and the necessity of this.
