Technological advancement never stops, yet in every new discoveries and inventions, come new
existing problems that need solutions that must not be delayed. On this 21 st century, learning
experience becomes dynamic in solving questions or problems in more than one way and it is the
advantage of learning through the inquiry process.

The inquiry process engages learners in a way that encourages critical thinking, higher level
processing, and the use of varied and appropriate resources. Furthermore, the inquiry process
promotes cooperative learning in settings where the final outcome is a collaborate group effort which
benefits everyone in the learning experience.

While integrated learning becomes possible, the inquiry process can take certain learning
through all of the content areas. A lesson on mining can begin with the science class investigating the
environmental risk of mining and then proceed in the social studies class where learners can look at
laws regulating the effects of mining. It will then continue in the math class analyzing the damages
brought about by mining. It will then be summed up in the English class writing the results. Finally,
communicating continues with the deeper sense of realization with the learners to engage in the
problem-solving within the community in which they live.

The learners may take the first step of the inquiry process by asking questions followed by
planning the necessary steps and determining the appropriate resources to use. Once, the learner
completes the questioning and the planning, it is on the collecting and crediting of resources being used.
Furthermore, the progress of the inquiry process goes with organizing knowledge so it will be useful.
Learners may eventually come close to the outcome of the inquiry by synthesizing or developing insight
into the problem with the systematic process in drawing conclusions based on the pattern of evidence.
Therefore, it is by communicating that demonstrates teamwork in working productively with others that
ends the inquiry process, so the teacher and the learner set clear goals.
