What is IELTS

The IELTS test assesses your abilities in listening, reading, writing and speaking – in less than three
hours. There are two types of IELTS: Academic and General.

This is a language proficiency test.

Targeted group

Students take the IELTS exam when they want to study abroad or at international universities in
their home country.

They can be GCSE final year / year 12 students at schools who want to pursue bachelor studies and
final year bachelor students who want to study master’s degrees. They have to take the ACADEMIC
IELTS.

There is another form of IELTS, which is the GENERAL form of IELTS. People take this for immigration
purposes. This is not much different than the ACADEMIC version. A bit easier with similar types of
questions.

Module structure and proposed package

The prices have been set by comparing some major IELTS course providers in Malaysia such ‘ELC
IELTS’. Theier prices are over 1600 RM in average.
Facilities the teacher require to provide lessons

The listening module

Students will listen to audio clips and write answers on their answer sheet. The platform should
allow the teacher upload audio and word document files. The teacher should be able to play audio
clips uploaded on the platform. Students should be able to download the word files.

The reading module

The teacher should be able to upload PPT and word files on the platform with the facilities of a white
board, circling, texting, highlighting and drawing option to explain things to students.

The writing module

Same as the reading module. However, assessments for the writing module will be done manually.
Students write their essays on a word document file and send or submit on the platform or directly
to the teacher’s email for marking.

The speaking module

Same as the reading module.

Means to deliver the lessons

The lessons are required to be delivered through live sessions because students will have a lot of
questions during the class. And it needs a great deal of interaction.

Places of registration

Students need to register for the test at British Council or IDP. We can just conduct mock tests. We
can help them with registration because many of them may not know how to fill up the application
form.

Marketing strategy

Digital marketing can be a key to attract students both locally and internationally. I have a friend in
Uzekistan who has a big network in many countries. She can help us get international students.
