Clinical Practicum III

This semester I decided to volunteer at my children’s preschool. A few Wednesday nights
throughout the semester I volunteered at Jubilee Christian Pre-School during the evening mass. Jubilee
is a Christian Pre-School and daycare that both my children attend full time. Jubilee has been a blessing
to my family, and as such I wanted to find a way to give back to the school.

The Wednesday evening mass provides free care to families with children so that the parents can enjoy
the mass without also having to keep children calm and quiet. Once a month for September, October,
November I would volunteer to help in the toddler room during mass. For an hour each time I was able
to play, sing songs, and learn with children, including my own kids. We also worked on putting together
a small play for the parents to watch just before Christmas. Below I have included a few photos for our
“play practice.” I have only included photos of my own children as I don’t want to post photos of other
children without full permission from the parents.
Giving back to this school means so much to my family. Jubilee Christian Pre-School has taught my
children wonderful morals and values, and by giving back I am teaching my own children through my
actions. I plan to continue volunteering on a monthly basis as this is a wonderful way to give back to a
school that has done so much for my family. This experience has also taught me how much work the
teachers put in every day. Especially trying to get 8-12 toddlers to put on a “play,” I have realized that
these teachers do so much more than “watch” my children, they truly are shaping their future.

My daughter Skylar is the Angel and my son Hayden is the King.
