Telephonic Interview Script

Hello <Candidate Name>! I’m <Interviewer Name> calling from WhiteHat Jr, the kids coding
company. You applied to us for a job of teaching kids coding online. We’re a startup founded by
Discovery India’s CEO and our curriculum has been created by top computer scientists from IIT
& MIT.

Congratulations! You’re in the Top 10% selected for the phone interview round. Do you have a
few minutes to talk now?

As a quick introduction, WhiteHat connects students who want to learn coding to teachers like
you via a Skype-like video platform. No prior coding experience is needed.

We’re proud to be the highest paying teaching platform in India. You’ll earn up to Rs
30-50,000/month immediately on joining us depending on the number of classes you take!

Now, I’ll ask you a few quick questions to move you to the next round. This shouldn’t take more
than 5 minutes.

Questions:
Q1 - Could you tell me about yourself? ​(Check for English fluency. Response - Fluent/Not

well - if zero connect with coding - REJECT.)

Q2 - Will you be available for 30 hours between 4-9 p.m. daily ​including Saturday and
Sunday​? You’ll be conducting classes with students who’ll be only available after school hence

Q3 - Do you think you'll love teaching kids and Why? ​(Check for Engaging delivery. Response -

can watch Netflix at home, you know you have a high speed connection! We ask because in the
next round, you’ll have to conduct an online demo class with our interview panel. We do this
demo video-class interview to check your ability to deliver an engaging class. ​(Response -

Thank you! You did really, really well. You’re selected for the next round. Note, we have a three
step screening process which will complete this week, immediately after which you’ll start
earning Rs 30-50k on the platform:
● Over the next 3 days, you’ll give 3 demos to our curriculum team. If you’re selected after
each demo, they’ll provide you feedback to help you get familiar with the online
environment and the course to start teaching kids immediately.
Your first coding demo class is set for ___________ using the lesson plan and video we’ll send
to you latest by today evening. You will give the class over the Internet to our interview panel
