BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Introduction

Imelda Operio’s Learning School is a private school offering pre-school, complete

elementary, secondary high school and senior high school. It was founded in 2004 and
located at De Gloria St. Talanay Area B, Batasan Hills Quezon City. This school was
founded by Mrs. Imelda L. Operio, a retired school teacher with great passion in
educating the young minds. The school has grown from a one classroom to its current
state: 15 classrooms, with enough facilities, 20 teachers, including the registrar and the
guidance councilor, and 5 non-teaching staff.

The Imelda Operio’s Learning School curriculum follows the DepEd K-12 Program. In
addition, Imelda Operio’s Learning School enriches its curricular offering in all levels –
the pre-school, the elementary and high school based on the needs of its students,
electives in English, Mathematics, and Science in the High School change yearly to suit
the particular needs of the students. Practical Life Skills (PLS) is added to the Pre-
school and Primary Curriculum to build and strengthen their ability to cope with social
realities.

Various academic organization/clubs are formed in the school. Students become

members of the organizations are: English Club, Mathematics Club, and Science Club,
Filipino Club, Values Club, MAPEH Club, and the Student Government Organization
(SGO) – which governs the student body and serves as a training ground of the
students.

Imelda Operio’s Learning School has its sports program for basketball, badminton,
volleyball, chess and scrabble. Our athletes earned the top places in the inter-private
school tournaments in Quezon City.
Background of the Project

Online Enrollment System is a reliable, fast and more efficient. It can help the
students to enroll their subjects, more reliable and faster because it is an online system
and also it can reduce the amount of manpower needed. In addition, Online enrollment
system is one of the best ways to provide accurate and efficient information needed by
school.

Thus, the online enrollment system provided faster registrations and also eliminates
paperwork saving time. The long process of enrollment has become a thing of the past
when one wants to enroll in a program you only need to have basic equipment like a
computer, internet services and help the school to organize the enrollment.

Statement of Objectives

Main Objective

The main objectives of the proponents is to develop an Online Enrollment

System. This system will help the students to enroll their subject with ease, efficient and

reliable. It will be also a user-friendly system.

Specific Objectives

 To design a system module for student registration.

 To design a system that can be used even at homes.

 To create a system that is computerized and automated in website.

  To create a website that will function as online enrollment system for the benefits

of Imelda Operio’s Learning School.

Scope and Delimitations of the Project

Scope

 The system can view and search to update a schedule of the student records.

 The system contains a database that can store records.

 The system will be uploaded in a paid hosting site.

 The system can print out a filled-out payment slip before payment.

 The system includes a login system for administrator and staff.

Delimitations

 This study focused only on the students Imelda Operio’s learning school.

 Enrollees will not be able to pay online.

 The system will not be able to display the grades of students.

 The system will not include the computation of grades of the students.

Methodology

Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

A process use by the software industry to design, develop and test high quality
software. The SDLC aims to produce a high quality software that meets or exceeds
customer expectations, reaches completion within times and cost estimates. It contains
7 phases that aim to determine each step in the development of a successful system.

Phase 1: Identifying problems, opportunities, and objectives.

Researchers identify and observe the company's existing system and gathered
some information where it can used to plan and build a system that will help to solve
their problem.

Phase 2: Determining human information requirements.

To gather information, researchers use a survey questionnaire and interview
those people who involved, the purpose of this phase is to identify the needs of a
company based on the information gathered.

Phase 3: Analyzing the system needs.

Tools such as data flow diagram to chart input, processes and output of the
system functions. In this phase the researchers also analyzing the structure decisions
made. Structures decisions are those for which the conditions, condition alternatives,
actions and action rules can be determined.

Phase 4: Designing the recommended system.

The online Enrollment System is one way to facilitate the process of every
student at Imelda Operio’s Learning School.
The system includes a login system for administrators and staff, they are
responsible for the records of the students of Imelda Operio’s Learning School whose
purpose is to make it easier to find and update a student’s recording schedule. They will
not include the computation of a grades of the students and the system will not be able
to display the grades of the students.

Phase 5: Developing and documenting software

Researchers have produced documents regarding the information gathered by
our group however the system is easier to implement because it is based on the proper
needs of the school. Our group conducted an interview to study the school’s history.

Phase 6: Testing and maintaining the system

 Programmer did a testing procedure to make sure that there is nothing problem
will occur once the users use it. Some of the testing is completed by programmer, some
of it by systems analysts in conjunction with programmer.

Phase 7: Implementing and evaluating the system

Online Enrollment system, when implemented correctly, give admission a better
leverage over student needs and motivation.
The entire process, from contact to conversion, becomes a seamless with a
centralized system in place. Take an organized look at some of the reasons why
automated Online Enrollment System have become a priority when it comes to student
enrollment.

Significance of the Project

This project aims to know the system to present new knowledge about the Online

enrollment system with the students of Imelda Operio’s Learning School. Vital results of

this present project could be highly significant and beneficial specifically to the following.

To the students

They are the students from Imelda Operio’s Learning School. They are

considered the main concern in the project. In this study, the findings of this project will

inspire, enlightened and become beneficial to the students of Imelda Operio’s Learning

School in Quezon City.

To the school administration

 The registrar will help the school to maintain the data of the students so, the

school will not use the manual data gathering. in fact, the thing that will you do is to

check the database for the records.

To the future analyst

This system will help and will benefit the future analyst as a guide in their

proposal project or proposal.

which then enables one to answer relevant questions and evaluate outcomes.

Efficient- being or involving the immediate agent in producing an effect.

Eliminates- to remove from further competition by defeating.

Enlightened- based on full comprehension of the problems involved.

may be organized in various forms, such as commercial, community-owned, non-profit,

or otherwise privately owned.

Manpower- power available from or supplied by the physical effort of human beings.

Proponents- : one who argues in favor of something : ADVOCATE.

Reliable- giving the same result on successive trials.

Vital- characteristic of life or living beings.
