Performance management describes actions that establishes clear objectives, enhances


performance, and holds individuals and teams accountable. Performance management
elements are specific to each organization’s requirement and impacts a team’s overall
as well as day-to-day processes which leads to building a team having transparency
and effective communication, improves productivity, recognizes high performing
team members and develops strong leadership as a part of ongoing process.
2. Leadership behaviors are strategies and actions which enables an individual to instill
ethics, integrity, trust, collaboration, and innovation, and recognize and reward
achievements among team members. To state a few examples, while defining
company’s goals and roadmaps, an effective leader would leave no ambiguity and
ensure everyone is on the same page leading to an effective output in line with
company’s overall objectives. Ensuring proper training is another example of a good
leader, which helps in improving the productivity of organization’s work force
[CITATION And11 \l 1033 ]. Again, spreading positive thinking by emanating
commitment to organization’s success along with confidence helps build excitement
among team members to work collaboratively in achieving a specific task. An
effective leader sees the bigger picture and plans to build a solid foundation and
structures to bring out the best results. Identifying and addressing inherent issues is
another trait of effective leadership behavior allowing the person in-charge to take
corrective measures before something turns into a bigger problem.
3. Accountability and collaboration are two organizational capabilities which connect
an individual’s work to an organization’s fundamental competencies. Reaping high
performances from employees is a combination of individual and collaborative
performance which can be measured through performance appraisals. However, both
these capabilities have different impact throughout the organization and among teams.
