1. What are common elements and their functions found across four models?

Enumerate the
elements and their functions.

 Sender: This is the person who sends a message to the receiver.

 Encoding: It's the method of converting thoughts into communication.
 Message: This refers to the information that the sender transmits to the receiver.
 Channel of communication: this is the transmission or process of delivering the message.
 Decoding: this is the interpretation of the message. The decoding is carried out by the receiver.
 Receiver: The receiver is the person who sends or receives the message.
 Feedback: In some situations, the recipient may have feedback or a response from the sender,
this starts an interaction.

2. Which of the models fits what you believe is the process of communication? Why? Explain briefly in
2-3 sentences.

- Berlo's model, because it contains the SMCR acronym stands for Sender , Message, Channel, and
Receiver, which explains the various components of the basic communication process in its simplest
form, and this communication method also focuses on the encoding and decoding of messages, it can be
used for more effective communication.

3. Does the model allow the sender and receiver to negotiate meaning for clarity and purposes? If so,
how? Explain briefly about 2-3 sentences.

- Yes, the sender is the one who transmits the information to the receiver after carefully putting his
thoughts into words. This is achieved with the aid of Berlo’s SMCR model that each have many factors.
As the message reaches the receiver, the receiver seeks to understand what the listener really wants to
communicate, and the receiver should be on the same platform as the sender to ensure a seamless flow
of information and a better comprehension of the message. This way, both the "sender" and the
"receiver" share the responsibility to make communication a comprehensive act and to achieve that
purpose.
