The dependece of the signs of the language on the activity of human

knowledge and his social practice.

I.V. Lenin states that practice is the criterion of knowledge, and the
knowledge of the material world is infinite. As society develops, as man
studies a certain practical activity, his knowledge of the world develops.
Like language, the meaning of linguistic signs are in the process of
evolution of society, of human thought and knowledge. There were times
when the meeting of sound of "atom" meant "an invisible particle." With
the evolution of time it has been shown that this hypothesis is wrong and
that the atom is divisible. These changes occurred as a result of the
activity of knowledge of reality.
