Covid-19 and tourism industry

It has been one of the toughest years for our society in the last decade. Coronavirus has hit all
of us, and it was strong enough to trigger shakes in all the industries, affecting businesses and
people as well.

It's clear, that the tourism sector got the major economic hit by Covid-19. As the whole world
decided to cancel flights and keep national borders closed, it caused a decrease in the number
of travellers, which resulted in empty hotels, airports and sightseeing places. Economical
regression is predicted in the travel industry, but companies try to find different ways to make
travelling popular again, with adapting various safety measures.

As a tourist, I would suggest having disinfectants and face masks available at the venue, so the
tourists will have a feeling that it's less likely to get infected there. From my personal experience,
when I was travelling during the pandemics I tried to find the airline which does deep cleaning of
the aircraft prior to each flight.

Additionally, I believe that the next step to make travelling appealing again is to modify different
activities and procedures. As an example, hotels can control the number of people
simultaneously in the dining area, or reducing participants in activities, such as hiking,
motorcycle tours, etc.

In conclusion, I do believe that the tourism agencies got hit by Covid-19 and it's really hard to
survive its financial consequences, but as a frequent traveller I would suggest taking different
safety measures and the sector will start to revive.
