 INTRODUCTION

Our purpose is to give a possibility for every trader without reference to their coding
skills/trading experience to create the EA that would match their personal preferences;
modify and refine their EAs as much as they need.

The idea is quite simple: you just drag and drop the needed elements and receive a coded
EA in two formats (both for the FT4 and MT4/MT5 platforms) that is ready to be downloaded.
 REGISTRATION

To register Visual Strategy Builder please follow this steps:

1. Go to ​https://tools.forextester.com/signup​or click on the Sign Up menu button
2. Enter your email (Please enter a valid email which you use as login, if you
enter wrong login and forget the login data later you won’t be able to change
it, because you won’t get a message with the instructions).
3. Enter password (please note that it should be minimum 6 characters long,
minimum 1 uppercase letter (‘A-Z’), minimum 1 lowercase letter (‘a-z’),
minimum 1 digit (‘1-0’), minimum 1 non alphanumeric character (_.#^)
4. Confirm password (please note that password and confirm password should
match)
5. Click “Sign up”
After this you will be redirected to the Profile page.
 LOG IN

To log in to VSB please follow these steps

1. Go to ​https://tools.forextester.com/login​or click on Log in menu button
2. Enter valid email (which you’ve specified while registering)
3. Enter your password
4. Click “Log in”
 PROFILE

Here you have 3 main tabs: Strategies, Templates and Indicators.

The Strategies tab shows you the list of your previously built strategies. Also here you can
click on ‘+Create strategy’ to open Visual Strategy Builder itself.
If you click on the name of any strategy in the list, strategy builder will also be opened.
Here you can delete any strategy by clicking the ‘Delete’ button.

In the Templates tab you have several Template collections. Templates are the same thing
as strategies, but they can be copied multiple times to your strategies list, and modified at
your discretion. VSB allows you to create your own private templates, publish them, so other
users can use them for their own goals (and, of course, you, in your turn, can use other
users' published templates too).
Your private template collection is the templates created by you in your profile. They are only
visible to you.
Templates created by Visual Strategy Builder users is the templates, which VSB users
created using the “Public” checkbox.
VSB template collection is thoroughly created by VSB team based on the most profitable
strategies!
You can sort all these lists of strategies or use the Search.
 THE SETTINGS

In the Settings menu you can fill in the copyright information and set some hints properties.
Also you can change your password there (please note that you should know the current
password to change it, otherwise you should click on the ‘Forgot password’ option while
Logging in.)

To open Settings window please go to Profile and click on the gear in the upper right.
 VSB

You can create your own strategy in a couple of ways. First, go to VSB tab, second go to
Profile->Strategies->Create strategy. Or you can use one of the existing templates, just go to
Profile->Templates and click on the name of the template or on the “Copy” button.

How to create strategy in Visual Strategy Builder?

Step 1: Pick the elements of your strategy – Indicators, Oscillators, Value, Price and Time.
You can pick one instrument, combine two instruments of different groups or choose several
elements inside one group. Drag&drop necessary elements in the Condition block.
Step 2: Edit the settings for each element (if the element has several constituents, you can
edit each one) by double click on the element in the Condition or by clicking on the editing
element.

Please note that you can also set the Global parameters for all elements. Just click on the
settings icon in the bottom left corner and choose necessary parameters such as Trailing
stop, Applied price and MA Method.
Step 3: Set the operations (the conditions that alert the EA to perform any of the actions, for
example, the crossover of the 2 MAs can be such a trigger).

Step 4: Choose the actions the EA should perform (open buy/sell orders; open buy/sell limit
orders; open buy/sell stop orders; close position; modify order; close part of position; move
stop loss to breakeven; duplicate position etc.).
Step 5:
Add the strategy info and export the file: once you are done, you can export the EA in three
available formats: .dll for Forex Tester, .ex4 for Meta Trader 4 and .mq4 for Meta Editor.
Please note that you should fill in the Copyright Info in the settings.
 Visual Indicator Builder

Step 1: Pick the elements of your Indicator – Indicators, Oscillators, Value and Price. You
can pick one instrument, combine two instruments of different groups or choose several
elements inside one group.
Step 2: Edit the settings for each element (if the element has several constituents, you can
edit each one). Please note that you can also set the Global parameters for all elements.Just
click on the settings icon in the bottom left corner and choose necessary parameters such as
Trailing stop, Applied price and MA Method.

Step 3: Set the operations (the conditions that alert the Indicator to perform any of the
actions).
Step 4: Choose the actions the Indicator should perform (Alert, Comment, Draw
Arrow/Object on bar, etc).

Step 5:
Add the Indicator info and export the file: once you are done, you can export the EA in three
available formats: .dll for Forex Tester, .ex4 for Meta Trader 4 and .mq4 for Meta Editor.

Please note that you can choose the Language of VSB in the Language menu.
