The head section wal instantly ower to the “down” postion without having to be held. This feature allows emergency procedures to be performed without Unnecessary los of time. NOTE: The Instant CPR Release should not be used fo raise the head section of the bea. use the HEAD UP control on the Siderail NOTE: When this feature is used on models 1155/1165, the Auto Firm made is automatically engaged HEADBOARD REMOVAL Level: Ths postion, with foot-end Sideraiis lowered to the middle postion, ailows the patient to egress from the bed hile stil providing reasonabie protection. Level 3: Ths postion places the Siderais beneath the mattress deck To store the Sideral, lower each Sderall completely anct push in foward the frome, NOTE: For patient transfer place Sideralsin the lowest postion ‘and push toward the frame. FOOTBOARD REMOVAL The headboard is removed by grasping the hand holds ‘and ling up. To replace: the headboard, lower the board onto the posts The headboard can be removed fo gain increased access to the patient's head and can be used as a backboard during CPR procedures, For the footboard fo be removed, the cotter pins at the lower corners of the foollboard must be pulled out. The footboard Is then removed by grasping the hand holds and lifing up. To replace the footboard, lower the board ‘onto the posts. The cotter pins must be replaced and nurse panel controls checked for proper operation, NOTE: The foctooard should only be removed during maintenance of the bed. Operation of these controls s described in the section of the manual covering the Sleep Surface on page 7. Hi-Lo. The H+-Lo controls ate located on the exterior of each head-end Siderall and within the Nurse Control Panel. On the Sideralls, press the top control to raise and the bottem control fo lower the bed to the desired height. Press TREND cnd hold to obtain the dested degree of Trendelenburg positioning, Use tne Trend Angle gauge fo measure tne inches and/or degrees of Trendetenburg postioning, To toke the bed out of the Trendelenburg position press the REVERSE TREND control unlll the Trend Angle gauge reads zero degrees which indicates that the bed isin the flat position. Press REVERSE TREND and hold fo obtain the destied degree of Reverse Trendelendurg positioning, Use the Trend Angle gauge to measure the inches and/or degrees of Trendelenburg postioning, To take the bed out of the Reverse Trendelenburg postion press the TREND control Until the Trendl Angle gauge reads zero degrees which indicates that the bed isin the fiat position, SIDERAIL NURSE CONTROLS - All Models NURSE CALL Press the Nurse Call button fo request assistance at bedside, HEAD UP/DOWN Allows you to raise/lower the head section of the bed without having to reach in and use Head Up/Down on the inside of the Sicerai HILO. Press top arrow 10 raise bed and bottom arrow to lower bed, Allows you to raise lower bed trom bedside without having te ge to foot section of bed to use Hi-Lo button in footboard. This wil automaticaly lock out the patient's Siderais Comfort Control ‘ond adjust the surface to mnimze pressure. When ths control is activated, a green LED willbe it on the Footboard Safety Panel ‘COMFORT MODE Activate the switch upward if the mattress needs to be firmer, down fit needs to 69 softer. This function can ako be controlled by the patient using the Siderall control. When the bed isin the Prevention Mode the Comfort Contra switches on the Siderails and Nuse Control Pané! will automatically be locked out, NOTE: The A Systern Control switch must be placedin COMFORT for this contol to be activated. The H:Lo contio's are located oulside of both head-end Siderais and at the Nuse Control Panel, On the Siderais, activate the top button to raise and the bottom button to lower the patient to the desired height, At the Nurse Panel activate the switch up to raise. down to lower the patient. TRENDELENBURG Activate the Trendelenburg/Reverse Trendetenburg switch {upward fo place the patient in the Trendelenburg postion Refer to the Trendelenourg Gauge for the measurement in inches and degrees, To take the patient cut of Trendelenburg, activate the Reverse Trendelenburg until the Trendelenburg (Gauge indleates 2er0 degrees which indicates that the bed is in the flat postion Activate the Tiendlelenourg/Reverse Trendelenburg switch downward 10 place the patient in the Reverse Trendelenburg postion, Refer to the Trendelenburg Gauge for the Measurement ininches and degrees. To take the patient out of Reverse Tiendelenburg. activate the Trendelenburg until the Trendetenburg Gauge indicates zere degrees which indicates that the bed sin the flat postion, CHAIR Activate the Chair Postion switch upward to place the bed info a Chair Postion. Position incicator 1 press the 1 HEEL RELEF button on the Nurse Control Pane! It the patient's heels est above Heel Position indicator 2, press the 2 HEEL RELIEF button on the Nutse Control Panel. It the patient’s hee rest above Heel Postion Indicator 3, press the 3 HEEL RELIEF button on the Nurse Contra Panel, Once the Heel Relief Mode has been engaged, check to ensure that tne proper button has been pushed. This can be. done by examining the Surface under the patent's heels. When engaged property. the Heel Relief Moce will ower the Surface under the heels and sight raise the Surface under the Ccatves. his has the effect of transferring a great percentage of the su9pot of the foot fiom the heel o the calf and, consequeniy signifcantly reduces the interface pressure on the heat. ‘AUTO FIRM MODE To faciitate patient handling, the caregiver can press the AUTO FIRM button within the control panel of the footboard. The Auto Fre Mode wl fully infate all ine air blaciders within the Surface making the Surface very frm, The patient’ body wil no longer displace air out of the air bladders and wil be raised up onto the Surface. This alows the caregiver to mote easly handle the patient during ambulation repostioning, procedures within the bed and iransfers from the bed. ‘The Auto Firm Mode is automatically activated when the Instant CPR Release is engaged. The air bladders of the Surface ‘wil automaticaly fll sequentialy flor head fo foot. The resulting fem mattress provides a stable surface on which to perform patient procedures. When the Auto Fim Mode is engaged, whether trom the touchpad control within the foollboard control pane! or cutomaticaly with Instant CPR Release engagement,the mode will ony stay active for one hour After one Nour it wil Cefoult fo Its previous mode, Comfort or Pressure Rell (ana Hee! Rele iit is engaged). This ensures that the patient does ot ast on a firm surface for an extended period of ime. NOTE: Mattress overlays ore not requied on the ZoneAre Steep Surface and therefore shoud not be ulilzed on top of the. Surface. See page 12 for Surface cleaning instructions, OPTIONAL UPGRADEABLE FEATURES DYNAMICAIRE SLEEP SURFACE The Dynamicaire Sleep Surface has hwo patient care modes. Prevention and Comfort. The choice of mode is best determined through an ‘assessment of tne patient as to their isk of pressure ulceration. For patients assessed not to be attsk.the Surface can be placed in the Comfort Mode. Ths gives the patient and care: iver contol ofthe firnness/sofiness of the Surtace. This s @ecomplisned by activating the COMFORT switch within the footboard control panel. Ihe fimness/sottness of the Surface Is then controled by the patient through the mattress controls located on each headend Siderail Simiay the frmness/sofiness can be controlled by caregivers through the FIRM and SOFT switch located on the footboard control panel For patients assessed to be clkk of pressure Liceraton, the Surface should be piacedin the Prevention Mode. PATIENT SCALE INSTRUCTIONS (Models 1115/1145/1165) The Patient Scale has on average accuracy of 1%. repeatability of 0.1% and an operating range of 0 to 450 Ibs. The scale has five butions and a display area. A caption appears below each button describing its function. OPTIONAL UPGRADEABLE FEATURES PATIENT WEIGHING. Step Tree-Zero Scole Step One-Place Bed in Weight Postion ‘The bed must be inits weight postion before a patient can be weighed. Ifits not, the scale splay will show four lashes (----) and the message "NOT IN WT POSTION”. The scale buttons will only be active when the bed in its ‘weight postion. + ifthe bed ss in Trendelenburg or Reverse Trende'enburg, take It out, The bed does not need to be completely flat for the scale to work, The most accurate weight reading is ‘achieved with the head section below 40 degrees, + Use the HiLo function to move the bed until the message NOT IN WT POSITION" disappears trom the scale display. Step Two-Prepare Sleep Surface Before placing a new patient on the bed, the sleep surface must be prepared fo accurately weigh the patient. This includes placing all pllovss, blankets, and any other items of non-variable weight which the pationt wal, be using, on the bed. You might want fo place a list of these items near the bedside for future reference, NOTE: It's important for the nospital or unit fo develop o protocol to determine what items belong on the bed at the time of weighing. CHANGING ITEMS ON THE BED CHANGE ITEMS During the patient’s stay in the hospital items will be added fo and removed from the bed. To account for the weight of items placed on or taken off of the bed surface without alfecting the patient's weight reading, use the «button + Press ond release the @ button. + Patient's weight reading wil flash. It wll be stored in memory while you change items on the bed. + Place the item(s) on or remove it fom the bed. The function remains active until the @ button is pressed again. + When the change is complete, press and release the « ‘button, “CALC” wil lash in the display. + When “CALC” stops flashing, a beep wil sound. The patient's original weigh! reading will reappear. + Press and hold @. +"000.0" wil flash in the scale disploy. + When "000.0" stops flashing, release the button. + CALC" will flash in the display os the scale zeroes. This may fake up to 20 seconds. Do not touch the bed while itis calculating. + CALC” wil stop flashing and @ beep will sound once zeroing is complete. 0,0" will appear in the display. Step Four-Place Patient on Bed Place patient on the bed.
