Extrusion:

Continuous process, thermoplastic feedstock product in an extruder, is transformed into a

molten viscous fluid, using heat and mechanical shearing. The material ends in a die where it is
cooled and shaped.

Flat and large products, crossed.

As the feedstock enters the feed barrel, the feed moves forward with the rotation of the
screw. The feedstock plasticizes as the rotation screw drags it forward (drag flow). Drag flow
creates friction within molecules which melts the materials. Extra heating vents give extra heat
to achieve the temperature. Plastic needs to be well-mixed.

Profile extrusion and blown film extrusion. Profile: Long continuous shapes having a constant
section or cross file.

Injection moulding:

3 parts: injection unit, mould, clamp.

The screw eliminates the central cold part. The flights transport the pellets and assure their
homogeneity. The screw creates shear, which heats the plastic.
