Accelerator pedal, idle validation switch supply voltage

Technical Service Bulletin V-27-106

Valid for
All Volvo FH16, FH12, FH, FM vehicles.

Case description
A too high Idle Validation Switch (IVS) voltage can result in short lifetime for the accelerator pedal. The IVS supply was
changed from 24 to 9 V with the introduction of VECU 21067820. Trucks that have problems with accelerator pedal
quality can update to a newer VECU and rewire the IVS supply to pin PB25 on the VECU.

Trucks that already have updated to a newer VECU (part nr: 21067820 or newer) can rewire the IVS supply to pin
PB25 to reduce accelerator pedal quality problems.

Reason
A 24V IVS supply can cause spark formation in the IVS sensor each time the accelerator pedal is activated and cause
premature wear of the IVS sensor.

Action
Rewire the IVS supply from VECU pin PB19 to VECU pin PB25

Old solution New solution with VECU 21067820 or newer
