The test level will be marked on the pile surface and extra concrete will be chipped off carefully and pile top will be trimmed off to a plain and level surface. If during the chipping, weak concrete is met with at the test level, further chipping shall be carried out till good concrete is met with and the pile will be then built up to the test level with the same or higher grade of concrete. After final preparation, a steel bearing plate 60mm or 100mm thick will be set centrally on top of the pile head by pouring non shrink grout for leveling ifrequired. 3.5 REACTION FRAME SET UP The loading frame capable of carrying full load shall be used for the test. Load test on the piles shall be performed on maturity of grout strength for the rock anchors i.e, after primary grouting of the cables for the fixed zone length, Layout of the reaction assembly will be marked on the ground and ground around the surface is compacted properly. The jacks are placed on the steel plate and loading frame will be lowered and leveled, ‘The reaction frame is carefully aligned and leveled to ensure the anchor holes are matching the axis of the anchors on the ground. The tendon strands are then carefully threaded through the loading frame and each strand is inserted through the anchor hole. The wedge plate is inserted on each of the anchor and wedges inserted on to each strand. Each strand is loaded to 5 to 10% of UTS of the strand in such sequence as to maintain the even distribution of load across the test rig, 3.6 EQUIPMENT FOR TESTING: 12 MT anchor Frame 4 no's Hydraulic jacks with 850 & 1000(each 2 nos) MT capacity 4 no's of dial gauges Hydraulic pump ‘Two no's of ISMB 100 as datum bars 4 no's of white glass plates, 4 no's of magnetic stands Base plates and packings for gaps RESPONSIBILITY Supervision Consultant may instruct the EPC contractor if required regarding preparation of test prior to commencement of pile load test work according to Procedure.
