Iliad – first written record of Greece


Homer – starting point/foundation of Greek Mythology.
Note: The Greeks, unlike the Egyptians, made their gods in their own image.
“The invisible must be understood by the visible.”, St. Paul’s quote which was not a Hebrew
idea, but a Greek one rather.
Note: All the art and all the thought of Greece centered in human beings.
Zeus – a capital figure of fun.
Hera – stock character of comedy, the typical jealous wife
