4. Why does the body always need energy, even when at rest?

6. What is roughage?

Part of vegetables and grains do not help the body to grow but helps to prevent constipation.

Swellings in the body especially the legs and feet.


5. What causes kwashiorkor?

Lack of protein in the diet, to gather with frequent illness.

6. How can kwashiorkor be prevented?

Give sufficient protein and immunization to prevent illness.

7. Name some foods rich in protein to supplement the pap given to a weaning child.

Beans, egg and milk.

8. What else can protein deficiency lead to in a growing child?

Harm the brain, mind may not develop fully.

9. What are the results of a lack of vitamins in a person’s diet?

A person become ill.

10. Is it good to take vitamin tablets every day? Why or why not?

No because too many vitamins can be harmful to the body.

11. What causes scurvy?

Lack of vitamin C.

12. What are the symptoms of scurvy?

Gums bleed and body unable to resist infection.
